So I was talking to one of my recruiters and their agency uses an online taped interview and test for Kaiser facilities. She said it's good for a year and managers review this instead of personally calling you. Anyone ever done this before? What's it like? It seems odd to me that the manager wouldn't want to talk to you?I mean what if you have questions or need certain things in your contract?

I did the online interview for Kaiser San Jose and another facility. The first part of the interview is a written portion that included questions about your previous work place (size, nurse/patient ratio, what kind of floor, patient demographic, most frequent diagnoses and surgeries...). The Kaiser interview also had questions about signs and symptoms of various disease (CHF, COPD, stroke). The phone part included a series of behavioral questions (what would you do in so and so situation, most difficult patient, costumer service example...).
My recruiter called me a couple of hours after and said I received offers from both facility. I, too, thought it was odd that I couldn't speak to a manager to find out more about the floor I would be working on.
Question: if the interview stays on file for a year, does it mean we have to work with that particular agency who initially submitted us for the interview?
Did you end up taking either job? How was it? This particular agency said they had the exclusive contract with Kaiser so I'm not sure about using the interview with another agency. Did you talk to either manager after the offers were made? I still can't wrap my head around not actually speaking to a manager first. Thanks for the info. It gives me a better picture of what it will be like.

American Mobile has the contract with Kaiser, but they do use other agencies. The chances are if you go through AM, the other agencies are off the table. If you pick a subcontracting agency, you are free to pick a new one later.
You can request an interview with the manager, but you probably don't need one. I've never been able to figure out from one what the workplace is really like, that has only happened with "boots on the ground". Kaiser and similar facilities that use tons of travelers discover that the paperwork is sufficient to determine if you are qualified.
The main negative you should know about Kaiser is that you may float every 4 hours. Your agency should have told you that.
I did not speak with any managers nor did I accept the position. It was going to be my first assignment and I did not feel comfortable floating every four hours.

I just completed the voice advantage interview, it was interesting and sort of nerve wracking especially because you can't connect with a live person. I did it for oakland/San Leandro/ east bay Kaisers, and my recruiter said I won't hear back for 1-2 weeks for a hub interview. The steps to being hired at Kaiser are something else, I've never had hoops to jump through like this.
Huh interview? I only did the taped interview and received my offer about a day after that. Is the hub interview only for northern cali? And what exactly is it? I'm planning to go to northern cali next.
They told me the hub interview was the final step, it's a panel interview. I have no idea is this is a northern cal thing, but I just got an email saying I'm on to the last phase. Fingers crossed!

Hi,
I also went through the same process. I received a call from a recruiter stating that she is a kaiser recruiter, never mentioned anything about her calling from an agency. I am now waiting for my hub or panel interview wih kaiser. I'm very confused lol. Did you get the job offer?
I got an offer but turned it down. They wanted me to do rotating shifts which I am unwilling to do.

I called the number but I never did the interview. It just seemed really weird to me that my voice recording is on record somewhere. I don't know who will listen to it or have access to it. I told my recruiter I wasn't feeling it. I figured if the hiring manager doesn't take the time to call me and talk in person then I shouldn't bother doing some recorded phone interview.
