I am so sorry to hear that! I thought somehow KP employees would have priority over everyone else! It looks like your have a strong background so I am confident you will get in somewhere soon!! On the same boat as you so let's not lose hope!!

I bet they didn't even look at my application since I picked "received ATT, will have the license by 2/12" instead of "got RN license". Probably they have lots of candidates who already have their licenses and some RN outpatient experience.

That could be a possibility... I am also trying to figure out why I was not competitive enough and what comes to my mind is the lack of relationship with KP - I am not a KP employee, and I have not had any clinical rotation or preceptorship at KP. I also have a weak employment history prior to nursing school, but that is something I cannot really change. I'll just keep trying and see. That's the issue we run into when we want to work in a really competitive area!!

Are you working as RN somewhere now? I probably will try to work in SNF or outpatient injection clinic since these don't count as inpatient experience.. Lets re-apply in fall. UCSF and Stanford also hv new grad program later this year. keep an eye on it

Yes I work as a school nurse! I will try Stanford and UCSF for sure! I applied to Stanford last time but did not get in

I work at KP (on the administrative side) going on 12 years now and still got rejected. I got interview offers from Templeton- Twin Cities Community Hospital (SLO) and Seattle Children's but didn't really want to have to leave the bay. Has anyone heard of any info (good and bad) from those places...other than way lower pay LOL

They sent out the auto-replied email I guess? mentioned about prioritizes "direct patient care roles and those who have longer tenure with KP."

Guess our years with KP are not long enough..... btw, I work here for 9 years and got rejected haha

I also got that email and tbh, I don't even know what it takes to get into these programs, especially after seeing that you guys are KP employees... I am starting to think maybe the earliest you get your career snapshot done, the better? oh well let's stay positive hehe! ?

I bet they just randomly pick on qualified candidates like a lottery system due to high amount of applications.... Like thousands of them

Same here guys... just got rejected this morning when I stepped out of my ACLS course…….

I sent them email ask to see what else I need to improve to be a better candidate... I graduated last month and got my license, working as LVN at Kaiser and being KP employee since 2015, got recommendation letter from KP nurse, GPA 3.7, and got my ACLS.... Not sure what else I can do beside EKG now....

I felt discouraged, but will continue applying to all new grads this year!! Good luck to all of us!

I'm sorry you didn't get chosen! There definitely will be other opportunities for you. I actually wanted to piggy back on this and ask if you submitted a cover letter? Before applying, I spoke with someone who is starting with cohort 8. They told me it was important to have a cover letter. I think a cover letter, that really outlines why you'd be a good fit with as well as highlighting who you are. I got an interview, but if it doesn't work out, I know now, that even if it isn't asked, I'm going to submit one with all applications! The silver lining, is that there's still a bunch of new grad programs that are opening up in the next couple months, good luck!

Rejection email here as well.  Graduated with honors 3.90, all certificates needed and more.  Uploaded all transcripts.  Including portfolio.  This process has to be random when selecting applicants.  The reason I say this is because, I know many many applicants that have applied this cohort and have been working at Kaiser for many many years only to be denied.  There are applicants that have no association with Kaiser whatsoever and have been selected (go figure)

I am not upset at all that I was not chosen; things happen for a reason.  (I mean with all transparency, I was going to give up my offer if I had been chosen.  As, I did not want to be in Medsurg for a year) I am just glad I held on to my offered ED Trauma position.  Please apply to positions and not rely on these programs, the longer the wait; the longer you will lose your skills.  Good luck you all ?

Yes, this has to be the truth.  Things just don't add up....

Right, no one wants to spend years in school and then take 20 steps back to become a PCT with an RN title.  I don't think so!
