Kaiser is foud in CA, not the entire US, so your thread has been moved to the forum for that state.
Kaiser does not pay more than other hospitals in its area, not sure where you have been getting your information from. There are hospitals in every chain or group of facilities that are better than some of the others, and there are some that are not as good. Not any different with this group either.
And some of them also offer additional specialties such as nuero-surgery and open heart facilities. Not all of their centers have all specialties.
In CA, their wages are not any different than what is going on in the area. Also depends on if the facility is unionized.
In the Bay Area, the starting rate is in the $40s per hour so it depends on the location of rhe facility. Where salaries are higher, the cost of living is also much higher.
Most of them have new grad programs, but the new grad programs do not start all year around, most are just several times per year. Each facility is different and has their own schedule, you need to check with the specific facility.

Thank you very much for you help suzanne4, I know I can be very curious with my questions but I appreciate your good information and help...
Hello Cinnamongirl,
Where are you from? Kaiser in CA starts about $40 an hour or more! I like the different areas you can work, and they just built a huge facility in Santa Clara, CA. Are you in nursing school now? If so, when do you finish? They do offer new grad programs in Ca. I went to an information orientation last month in Oakland, CA. They were looking to employ in the areas of pediatric ICU, M/S and L&D where I would love to go!! Please keep in touch!!
Hello,I haven't heard anything about a math test, but yes you would need a referral. Kaiser usually hires within first. I heard your doctor can submit a referral for you as well. Good Luck!!!
whats with the referral thinggy. LOL i dont get it. they will interview you if u r qualified then select if u have reached their wow expectations. I read on one of their qualifications that if you are not their previous employee or been working from one of their clinic, you have to pass a math test. i dunno what that is but its Math! Scaryyyy! LOL.. I mean I dunno anybody here in USA except my family so how would I get a referral. I might ask my doctor, I just hope he will not find me crazy asking one:)
thanks!
I know someone just hired at Kaiser in San Diego. She had to go thru four interviews and yes pass a math meds calculations test. Many IV questions she said. Then a drug test. As an LVN started out at only $17 per hour for the first three months, (on probation at that time) then kicked up to $20/hr. And they are unionized.
We did our clinical rotations at Kaiser and the nurses there liked it and recommended it.
