Just took the NCLEX

Published

Hello, I took the NCLEX-PN on thursday. I didn't sleep the night before because i was so nervous. I felt confident before the test- I had studied a month, read 2 nclex books, and took on 1000's of sample questions on internet and cd. I left that testing room in a daze:eek:. I had at least 15 sata, lots of pharmacology i had to guess on, prioritizing, and no math but an intake output question. The computer shut off at 85 questions. Almost all the material I studied wasen't even on the test including the material from a review i spent $225 on! And for the second night in a row I didn't sleep at all because my stomach was hurting from the stress of knowing I failed that god awful test!:bluecry1: My husband told me last night that I have been crying over this test for nothing because he heard at work that if you get lots of sata's and the minimum questions that you pass. Does anyone know this to be true or false? Thanks for input signed desperately seeking license.

Hi and welcome

Unfortunately you just can not predict with this exam. SATA is just another format of questions and we have had members pass with many as well as some that didn't get any SATA. You just can't tell. Good luck

Good luck. Don't try to stress too much over it, it is over now. Try to find something distracting to do until you get your results. I hope you have quick results. You may be surprise by your results. Once again best of luck.

I passed!! Just found out. I don't know how I pulled that off? That was the hardest test I ever took in my life! I think it is true what they say about if you have a bunch of sata's you probably passed. Thanks to all for the encouraging words and maybe now I can get some zzzzz's.

I just took the NCLEX-PN yesterday. I left the testing room not knowing how my future was going to pan out. It is killing me not being able to know if i wasted a year of my life for nothing. My computer shut off at 87. everyone that i graudatued with had between 85/90 questions. only one girl out of 17 got more than 100 and they all passed. There were things that I had no idea what they were talking about. Then there were things that I had felt pretty confident about. The bad thing im worried about. I was only in the testing facility for one hour and fifteen minutes. Plus my computer shut off at 87. O geeze...did I really do that bad. Did the computer just shut off because they knew there was no hope for me ever to become a nurse? :crying2::confused::sniff:

Hello ready_to_graduate,

Remember not to compare yourself to others on what they got because the exams are all different. Do not worry about the numbers. Try to relax, go to a movie, out to dinner to get your mind off of the exam. Have some fun. Before you know it you will have your results. GOOD LUCK!!!:redpinkhe

Well thank you but man I cant help but feel like a failure. And I know the numbers dont really mean anything but there is still that nagging feeling in the back of my mind. And another weird thing....I was calm going into that test. I was like that in nsg school too. It was like going into the test and acting like i knew everything there is to know about nsg. Why was I so calm? But this is the NCLEX! This is the big dog...well just hope that I get to sleep

Don't worry although you will anyway. You will be miserable for the next few days worrying over that test. I know I was in your shoes a few weeks back. I did a lot of research when I was going out of my mind with worry over that test and I haven't heard of a single person who failed when getting under 100 questions. I would have put money on me failing that test, I waited my 2 days and pearsonvue said I passed! Good luck!:)
