Just registered for the FCCA!!! :-)

Published

So excited, just paid for and registered for the FCCA. She said it will be here on May 31st, and my window is June 1 - 10th. Who else is testing this window? :yeah:

@Beachnurse84: Congrats and best wishes for FCCA & CPNE.

I have a question regarding the scholarship.

Will you still qualify for scholarship if you go ahead and register now? I know that inorder to register you will have to either pay in full or go on a payment plan, therefore will EC still consider for scholarship? I know when I spoke with them about the scholarship for the exams I was told that they will not reimburse, that they would only give me scholarship based upon if I have remaining exams. I will probably be CPNE eligible before August but I plan to wait it out to register since my plan is to be in the August scholarship pool for CPNE. I wanted to know how would it work if you go on a payment plan to secure a date while waiting for the Scholarship time period to kick in? Have you discussed this with EC?

I have discussed this with the lady in financial aid (who was fabulous!!) and she told me to call her back on the first of August. EC will only give you a scholarship that they can pay in to the school, they won't give cash or anything. So for the April scholarship since I was finished with all my nursing exams but I had a balance on my enrollment fee, they paid that off for me. I am going to put a down payment for the CPNE and set it up monthly and keep my fingers crossed for the scholarship! I was told the closer you are to the CPNE, the more scholarship you can be eligible for, she said there is a scholarship EC has called the Heartst (sp?) scholarship that is only for the students taking the CPNE.

Call them, they are so helpful. :-)

Thank you for the info. I think this is much clearer now so basically if I become CPNE by end of June I can go ahead and apply for a date without waiting until August? And when August rolls around I will have had a date plus be eligible for the scholarship! Fantastic! I also received scholarship for 2 exams last month and I agree the person in charge was very accomodating BUT if I didn't follow thru on the very last day (after realizing no scholarship was awarded to me) I would not have received one even though I fell in the category of "most needy". According to them must have been a computer glitch. When I get to FCCA/CPNE eligible I will call again just to make sure before I do anything.

I registered for FCCA today, getting my material May 31st also:)

Congrats to all...its good to hear you all talking about your plans and CPNE. I'm 2 tests away...find myself drifting to Allnursing and CPNE boards...cant help it.

I'm going on an allnursing fast:nono:....starting tomorrow.

Tasha keep your head up you will get it.

Im am in that test window as well. :)

Brenan that's awesome! I just made it for our window, she said it closes tomorrow morning!

I have the three required textbooks for it... am hoping it is as straightforward as everyone says... I need a break, hoping I can get it done within a day or two! I have A&P scheduled on June 7th too... and can't reschedule... so I need to focus on that also.

Where are you applying for the CPNE? I am waiting for my background check to come back so I can apply...

MORE BOOKS for FCCA??! OMG!!! That info may be censored since FCCA is so secretive....so I am not asking for info here, just had to throw in a rant! lol....

I am so envious of everyone planning their CPNE! I was going to try and move my LS3 test to May 26th but may decide to leave it on May 31 to allow a little extra time. I am still hoping to be testing with you all by August ;)

You may have them already Loops, and one of them is the same book you are allowed to bring to the CPNE so you have to make sure you don't have any writing in them and no highlighting but yellow :-) I got them pretty cheap on Amazon.com. I e-mailed my advisor and ask her what I needed and she told me in e-mail, I dunno if it's a secret? So silly how secret the FCCA is LOL

The book info probably isn't 'top secret'....I am just paranoid and would hate to steer someone in the wrong direction! Lol!! :lol2:

The Mosby's you need for sure for the CPNE, and the Taylor's fundamentals set you probably have already. I am thinking of getting the DVDs to go along with the Taylor's, I heard they show the techinique of basic skills the way they like them performed at the CPNE.

If only there was a money tree somewhere? LMAO....
