JUST Passed both FCCA!!

Nursing Students Excelsior

Published

Just wanted to write a quick note, since so many comments here helped me with decision making on all levels with Excelsior College. And, made me feel NOT ALONE in this endeavour. Just passed the second exam FCCA 498 last evening. Cannot believe I have gotten so far, and what a great path it was for me with this school. I know the hardest is still in front of me, CPNE and boards, but I feel that if you prepare enough everything is possible.

ALL of the nursing exams I passed on first try and FCCA, with the help of STUDYGROUP101www.studygroup101.com/studyguides.html ONLY. Lifespan3 seemed the hardest for me, as the study material was not similar to the actual exam, but I always used the ADPIE, and it worked out well. I thought the notes from studygroup101 for FFCA were sufficient enough, plenty of practice questions, care plans, assessments! were great! If you study those- you WILL pass. ANY questions, don't hesitate to email me. All best!

you can try studyguide101, I took mine with labs in a local college, but the $10 price tag is well worth it for any practice questions..I did forget to include that with each exam I also studied the excelsior practice exams, the rationales cover much information to each particular subject

I know this is an older post, but I am registering for my FCCA and wanted to do them simultaneously. Is this a bad idea? EC doesn't recommend it, but I don't want to go off of them. Would it be a bad idea to do them together?

Not "recommended" but a lot of people do it. I plan to take both together as well

I just registered for both. If I fail one (God-willing that will NOT happen, positive thoughts), I can sign up again for the next 8 weeks, which I would be taking that time if I did it sperate anyways. Si se puede! (We can do it!) I believe. Haha

I hope to be saying the same thing tomorrow afternoon!!

Many ppl do it at the same time, it is totally doable. Good luck! you will do great!

@Mesiam how do you recommend to take FCCA together? i register for them both, starting next week. should i take one before the other or start studying together for both of them?

Wow, congrats!

I had stopped using sg101 a long time ago when I ended up with a C in Lifespan 1. Problem with sg101 is that you're never sure if they've really covered all required topics or not.

As long as you use resources like SG101 in conjunction with the exam content guide, you can be fairly certain what you've covered. But I liked using more than just one resource, usually.

Hi thanks! for me sg101 worked great, but everyone has different study habits, I retained info better from sg101 than reading books. Also liked the quizzes and review questions they offered within each study guide. Nclex next week! and sg101 got me there with no fails :)

cOnGrAtS ! I am on to that next! Doesn't it feel good! Each test you take is one step closer to that RN degree! all the best to you!

Thanks and you too!
