Hey,
I just took and passed NC 4 on Monday. I was wondering how everyone else is doing with Excelsior College. I would love to hear study tips for NC 5 also! I have started studying for it now. I was told that some students get more than 50% psych even though it's only suppose to be 50%. Is anyone enrolled at EC in North Texas? Take care everyone!

Congratulations on completing all of your exams! I hope you don't have to wait for the Clinicals as long as my friend. She waited for 6 months! Looking back at the exams, which ones did you think were easier?
:)
hi,
nc4 was hard to me just because i have no desire to work in cardiology or oncology. there was a large amount of questions on drugs also, and i wasn't that familiar with all of the cancer drugs like i should have been. i wish you luck. how did you do on nc6 and nc7?
robert :)
i live sw of wichita falls, and i find it irritating that i have to drive so far to take an exam. that's one reason why i want to make 100% that i am ready to drive and take the test. abilene is the closest location for me to take an exam! it takes an hour and a half to get there. i wish they would add a location in wichita falls!
Thanks!
NC 1 was easy. 3 was hard simply because I didn't care about the material - mother/child/pediatrics/community/maternal. 4 took a long time to feel ready to test - the cardio stuff is so dense, and the reading was soooo sloooow that it took forever. 5, 6, and 7 I just blasted through. 7 was simple - utter nonsense and pure memorization of dates and names and nursing theory. Bleh.
I don't think my wait will be so long. I can drive to Albany in under two hours and there are four sites there, plus I said I would take a cancellation on a day's notice.
I started the application process today. Now I just need to get my medical, and titers drawn for varicella. No one but Excelsior has ever asked about the chicken pox vaccine! And they didn't have it when I was a kid, anyway. Hell, we'd just gotten polio and smallpox.
do they require hep b?

i made a b on 6 and it was straight forward to me . lots of questions on muscular system disorders. nursing concept 7 was stupid , just like sue mentioned. i am not all that interested in history (although i should be) it was so dry and boring. i am taking nc 3 next week. i am not really worried about this test though, i have lots of experience with ob/ maternal/peds. it is nc 4 that scares me, i don't really get into the cardiac stuff... but i guess i will for this test huh.

no, you can waive it.
mmr, diptheria/tetorifice, varicella or titers, ppd
