Just overwhelmed

Published

I am taking the NCLEX exam tomorrow and I am just so overwhelmed with different emotions. But mainly scared and anxious. I can't even concentrate with reviewing anymore! So far all I've done is burst into tears and feeling worried that maybe I made a poor choice of not doing any review class. Sorry just had to vent.........:crying2:

First things first. Put the books down. Relax and do something you enjoy, whatever relaxes you. For me its grilling/cooking. For some strange reason, cutting vegetables with a scary sharp knife and charring meat over a blazing wood fire relaxes me! :D

Second. Don't beat yourself up about a review class. You can easily succeed without it. I was cheap. $80 invested in Saunders and LaCharity was it for me! From what I gathered, Kaplan reviews test taking strategies and not content.

IMHO, the NCLEX questions weren't hard, it was controlling the anxiety and anticipation that comes with it. I don't care who takes it, it is there. If you can do that, you WILL reach your goal. :)

Eat a good meal tonight, try to get a good nights sleep, and swing for the fences tomorrow NrsKyssex.

Relax and enjoy yourself a day before the exam. Most times anxiety causes people to fail. When you take the exam is either you know it or you do not. Stop beating yourself up...I was feeling overwhelmed too but I tried to be calm during the exam and passed @ 75questions...You can do it too! Walk with confidence and think positively.

Spend the rest of the day relaxing and practicing your relaxation exercises. You will do fine tomorrow.

This really put a smile on my face!!

Thank you all for the kind words!!

Will try to do juz that........

I did not get to do a review class also. I studied from the LaCharity book which had some great priority and delegation questions. I also did the 'CRAM' book and I found them to be of great help while taking my test. I took my NCLEX on March 24th at 8.00am, so I am waiting to see my results tomorrow morning.

Good luck to you also and please don't let anxiety get in the way, practice some deep breathing exercises before you walk into the room and if you are a praying person do that "it's a must".:redbeathe

Relax! Do something enjoyable today and wake up tomorrow refreshed and tell yourself it is just another fun day to be alive.....

Good Luck! I'll pray for you because I was also in that situation a week ago.....:)D

THANK U ALL !! I appreciate it!

Well today is the DAY!! Super uber nervous and scared.

Take it slow, read each possible answer and eliminate.

And remember to BREATHE!

You got this!

Keep us posted :)

Well did the exam. Seriously on the way there I was crying like a baby! I was so nervous that when I was doing the hand printing, I had to do it like 5 times, the computer would not take it. After the exam I left there feeling numb like I just couldn't cry anymore

I stopped at 75, I don't know what to think. Im about to do the trick that everyone here is talking about.

The feeling is just normal when taking an exam... just relax friend! it's good that you let those tears out from your eyes...just be calm and think positively!!! you can do it!!! just believe in yourself and what the Lord can do for you!! Go for it!!! God bless you!!!

Felt the same on my exam day...got 75 questions, did the trick...got the pop up.

I found out on Friday that I passed!!!!!!!

Wish you all the best...let us know if you passed.
