Just how many nurses from IL do we have here at allnurses?

Published

OK, where is everyone from Illinois? There were 29 replies on the original intro thread. Is that it?

Roll call....

Here! (Chicago)

hey amspark,

way to go on the hourly rate- i think it's pretty good for stress-testing. I run my puppies to the ground as an ER nurse, and for 30/hr:eek:

Do you know that some office nurse positions in my town only pay 16-19/hr. 2 years ago I got one office to say they could only go to 20$. Wow- it's tough picking. Good luck in what you do. Sharon-sp.:)

Student at Lewis U near Joliet here!

Hi Bonnie,

I was set to transfer to Lewis this spring, (but luckily transferred to St. Xavier University.)

I wasn't sure how it works when a school looses its recognition? Does this mean that the current students are still elibable to take the nyclex or not?

Best of luck to you!!! Hoping it all works out.

I am not a nurse yet...just a hopeful. Trying to get in for fall! Live in Geneva and Cubs lifer!!!!!

Currently a student in southern Illinois, but I'm ready to get out of the boons and move back to the city. I miss chicago. Not even the city, the suburbs would suit me nicely. I just want to get back up north. Maybe get my BSN at St. Xavier or something. Does anyone have any experience with lewis, francis, or Xavier and they could maybe give me advice or tell me what to expect with those schools?

I work PRN at a little hospital. They pay 33/hr for PRN. I wanted to go to Evansville to work Trauma, but PRN pay is only 20/hr (yeah I about fell over when they said that). So by the time you add in a 2 hour round trip commute and gas, boy haven't made that little for years!! I personally thought it was an insult considering I have 5 years at a Level 1.

The draw back, is this little hospital really doesn't have a "TRUE" ICU, it's more of what would have been a step down unitl where I am from. Anything that would be a IV, V, or a VI gets shipped out immediately. Boy I miss the big Trauma's & ICU!!!!!! :uhoh21:

But, here goes....... lol

I am a CNA, just passed the test actually on jan.15,04. WOO!HOO!! I relocated from Galesburg, IL to Princeton, IL on Feb. 7th. I now live out in the sticks which is quite a bit different than a city of 45,ooo+ !! I am trying to find a job....... very slow process though! I was at the Peru mall this weekend and totally loved it...... Galesburg's mall has hardly any stores, let alone people actually walking around it! lol.

PJ Marie - come on down to Peoria and work!

Technically my house is in Indiana, about 15 minutes from the Illinois border, but I've worked in Chicago for 2 years now, I go to school in Chicago, and I temporarily live in Glendale Heights (for another 5 months), so I'm sorta in Illinois!

Specializes in Emergency Nursing.

Champaign ER, Hola!

Here too-I am from a small town 2 hours west of Chicago on I 88.

I am from Southern Illinois. Herrin, in Williamson County. Just started the part time PNE program at John A Logan College in Carterville. I am currently working as a DSP/Trainer II for the developmentally disabled, and love it. I want to do more, though. I am married to the most wonderful man, and between the two of us, we have seven children...:uhoh3: .YEP, Brady Bunch...any suggestions as to where I may find my Alice??? Anyway, glad to be here.
