Just graduated two weeks ago?

I just graduated two weeks ago from nursing school and I still feel burned out. I can't even bring myself to start preparing for the boards. All my nursing content was completed Nov 25th. I think this last semester really took a toll on my brain and body. Please tell me this is normal and I will get over this feeling

I haven't graduated yet but I just wanted to say CONGRATS!!! YOU DID IT!!! I'm sure that feeling will pass, it's only been two weeks for goodness' sake! Take it easy on yourself.:D

Congrats!!!! I agree with previous message, take it easy! I also know how u feel, I have one more semester left and I already feeling burned out too! I say relax but dont wait too long to study for your boards, you still want to remember everything, just take it a day at a time and study and do practices a little each day...good luck

Thanks 2 both of you and you are right I am relaxing and taking it easy. I will be start preparing for my boards after the holidays. Good luck to both of you

Congrats on graduating!!

I'm only going into my 2nd semester, so I can only imagine how exhausted you are.

I would take small steps. Try answering a few questions during morning coffee & then working up to a dedicated hour each day & increase from there. If you're that burnt, you may have to trick yourself... that's going to be my plan. lol. Hope it helps a little! Good luck & congrats again!

I agree. Take a break and start back up slowly. Congratulations. I can only imagine what I will feel like a few years from now when I am done. I am so excited to get there but scared too. Hope you do well on NCLEX. Yay for you. You did it.

Yes that wore out broke down feeling is normal. I thought I was losing it until I talked to several of the people I graduated with and they felt the same way. I took a couple of weeks to enjoy life (went on a 10 day cruise) and then it was back to the NCLEX books. It took about a month for me to feel like a human again post graduation.

Hi there:)

I just finished my program Dec 8th and feel the exact same way! That final semester nearly killed me and I feel completely emotionally and physically drained! I haven't started studying for the boards yet either (I write Feb 4, 2009). I dunno, no real advice here, just wanted to let you know you're not alone, I'm beat!

Hey the feeling is mutual.. I finished my last semester Dec 11th, and I am taking boards the 30th.. all the while working 50 or more hours a week as a paramedic. I am completely burned out, I was in a paramedic to RN bridge program and it was a 1 year course but crammed packed with knowledge. I just hope I can remember it all for boards, I take a study book to work with me and study for 30 min at a time and like today when we were busy running 911 calls I studied when I could and took a break often.. tried to stop information overload. That is what I am doing on here.

I just graduated two weeks ago myself. I can't seem to find the motivation to do much of anything. To top it all off, I am anxious because I actually know when I am coming and going. Kinda weird. I thought I would be more excited than I am. You are definitely not alone. When I was a nursing student, I knew which direction I was taking. Now, I feel lost and too burned out to clean off the desk.

Specializes in OR Internship starting in Jan!!.

I finished in early Dec, and I'm still exhausted. I just got my ATT last night, and I had a moment of panic because I haven't really done anything to prepare for the NCLEX. I'm just so tired!
