Just got accepted! What are my next steps? (Sheridan College)

Did anyone else get an acceptance to the May 2016 RPN program today? I see on their webpage that I need to complete a:

  • Criminal Record Check
  • Record of Immunization
  • CPR Level D & Standard First Aid Certificate

Should I start on those requirements right now?

It still says conditional even though I finished the course and sent the transcript in December :(

I haven't been enrolled in any classes yet, have you?

I just paid the $500 non-refundable deposit yesterday (since it's due in March) and will be paying the tuition fee (due April 13) once I get the OSAP funding!

My friend just did the CPR Cert renewal course and she said it was really easy ?

Ok, in that case you might wanna give them a call and see. Sometimes they don't get around to updating the info or there is something wrong with their system. I had to give them i call because my application wasn't being updated. No i haven't been enrolled yet either. Supposedly the timetables are coming out in April. Did you get all your books yet?

I'll try giving them a call and see what's up :(

Where can I find the book list? My boyfriends cousin gave me a few basic books from George Brown (Med Surg, Pharmacology, Nursing Fundamentals, Medical Terminology) but I haven't gone around to reviewing them yet!

Go to sheridan college website look up the RPN program go to courses. Scroll all the way down to course outline you'll be able to find the booklist there. Not sure how current or if well be using the same book in May.

Great ! I'll have a look, thank you!

Hey costa223,

Do you happen to know where we get our scrubs/equipment?

Well i already have a Stethoscope i just have to get scrubs... But you can try sands.com they have a lot of medical stuff on it for reasonable price. Also don't go crazy because a lot of stuff you'll think you will need but is just excessive.... #SaveYourMoney

And also the Sheridan Bookstore should have all you need actually if the anxiety subside lol...

I will also be starting the RPN program at Sheridan in May. Regarding enrollment in classes, we don't actually enroll. You will have your schedule accessible to you about 2 weeks before the program starts. It is an assigned timetable so they will just assign classes to each of us. After classes have been assigned, there could be some room to move classes around if there is room in other classes.

In Semester one you will get a nursing kit, with a stethoscope and all the equipment you will need. What you will need to buy on your own are navy nursing scrubs (marks work wearhouse has nice ones) and white shoes. Everything else will be supplied by the college, you pay program fees in your tuition so you will get everything once you start. Do not buy your books before you start, ever prof will have different ones they use every semester. However, med surg everyone will need as well as a pharm book

Hey jrigby,

There is no fee for the stethescope or equipment? Is there a lot of room to move courses around during the first semester in order to hopefully get some days off?

The fee for the equipment is included in your tuititon :) And there is a little bit of room to move things around but not much, there is two blocks for some of the course running and some of them there is only one block so youre stuck with it. Most people had one day off in semester one but I don't think I knew anyone who had more than that. In semester two there was no room to move things at all, there was only one block of everything and because you have two days of clinical placement all your classes are in three days and nobody got a day off. Semester three you can move things around a little bit, most people have two days off, some have one day off. Semester four you will no have any days off. Hope that helps!

Did they eventually see your application + grades? They are claiming that they don't see my grades on OCAS when other colleges have. I applied for Jan 2017.
