:rotfl: I am having way to much fun.

At first I thought that I was too old to get a job in the healthcare field.

Then with all the reasurance I received from my fellow allnurses, I took the plunge.

Will be finishing CNA in about 4 weeks.

Carrying a 92% grade, so I am real happy.

Have an interview on Monday with the facility I do clinical in. The job is midnights and only 16 hours a week. :crying2:

Oh well, I have to start somewhere.

Here's my question?

I will be applying for the PN program in March, then swing into the RN program the following year.

Don't know if I have enough points to get into PN, but I have enough to apply. Those that don't make RN program, get a chance to get into PN, so they are first on the list:angryfire

Still have a few prereques to finish for RN, but should have them do too by end of 2006.

I am looking for scholorships for older ladies that want to pursue their education (healthcare) but don't make enough to live on. :uhoh21:

Any help would be greatly appreciated, as you have always helped me in the past.

Iwas in the same dilemma. I was 45 when I started nursing school and I worked full time in order to live. I kept my grades up, so I received academic scholarships. But believe me, it was hard. Have to say it was worth it.

Hey there, So...

Must you go the PN route? Would suggest thinkng about proceeding on the RN track.

At our school, they put you through many more additional courses if you do PN then transfer over to RN.

Good luck whichever way you decide!

At the school I attend Going the PN route my first year transfers as the first year on the RN route.

There is one transition course I would have to take during the summer, then go into the RN.

I actually will be able to get into the RN course in the same year as I wanted to, but I will be getting in on the second year level. Cuts 1 year off my time of finishing RN. I have to do this to be able to get all prereqs for RN done in time.

The older you get, the less time you seem to have:rotfl: :rotfl: :crying2:

That's wonderful!!! Glad you are enjoying your classes.:chuckle My best friend is 53 and she will be finishing her CNA classes at the end of January!!! She is making A's in her classes too. I have hired her to be my full-time live-in CNA for my 84 year old mother who has Alzheimer's. She is also going to work weekends in a nursing home to get more CNA experience under her belt.:) I wish you the best of luck in your future nursing classes too.

Thank you for your encouragement. I am sorry to hear about your mom though. I'll be honest, I don't know how young moms goes through these classes and still have time to care for their children

congratulations!!

you should be so proud of yourself!! good luck!
