First thing, take a deep breath. Alot of people have had to take the test more than once, you are not alone.

If you passed your BSN classes and graduated, relax. I don't know any BSN grads that eventually did not pass the test.

Study but do not obcess. The nclex exam(atleast 16 years ago) only looks for basic safe practice skills in the testing.

Be confident and don't ever change your answer unless you are 100% sure you made a mistake in the answer.

Good luck

I believe saunders is a great study guide,it has everything you need. My test stopped at 75, what a terrible feeling:uhoh3:

Maybe, try studying with someone else.

Just registered as a member. I failed my first RN-NCLEX attempt two weeks ago at 162 questions in 160 minutes and lost a perfect job. I had a lot of priority, meds, one select all that apply, couple of safety and infection control, few multiple on physiological and advocacy and one easy math. By the time the test was done, I could not remember the last question because I was in so much in shock. I knew I had failed when the test kept going because it got harder and tricky. Let me just say, I froze when the test did not stop at 75 questions because I was mislead that-that mean't failing, till I came accross this discussion forum. You can not imagin how this Web Site has/is helping me so far. I never thought NCLEX could be so unpredictable. I graduated in May with a BSN and I took kaplan review course (class) and got in the 60s. In addition, I did about 1000 of incredibly easy questions and a few questions from saunders book not the CD. Naturally, I'm not a good test taker even when I know the content so well, and NCLEX is even very tricky for a poor test taker like me. I just started doing saunders CD although I'm not doing as much each day because I'm so discouraged. I planning on giving myself at least 5-6 weeks of preparation before my next attempt. I need advise on what to do before my next NCLEX. I hope this time I will beat this last stage of obtaining my profession name.

Just reading your experience made me realize how unpredictable the NCLEX really is!! You said that you had a lot of priority, select all that apply and safety control questions...AND you say that the questions were getting harder and trickier!!! From what i thought if you get priority questions and they are getting harder, its a good sign. I guess you really cant predicit the outcome.

Review multiple text... I had a 4 day pubmed review course, I also reviewed my Mosbys NCLEX review book, along with my results from my NLN exam (we took in Nursing school). Don't be frightened the 2nd time if u go beyond 75. I just found out I passed today with 265 questions. I thought for sure I failed. Continue practicing priority questions, delegation, and not get too detailed when studying. I wish you the best of luck. You will rock that exam next time.. Trust me! :)

I think the whole easy/hard thing gets a little muddled because each candidate makes their own opinions of which questions are hard and which are easy. Elizabells (one of our Allnurses buddies) made this point (much more clearly) in a recent thread on this forum. Because we all have different strengths and weaknesses, what is hard to me may be easy to you, and vice versa.

The take-home points: If you're in the middle of your NCLEX, focus your entire energy on one question at a time, rather than trying to detect trends. If you've just taken the NCLEX, try to relax and let it go. What's done is done. All the second-guessing in the world won't change the result.

Good luck on your next test, Tinta. Sounds like you'll be armed with better preparation and more knowledge of the test this time around.

Thank you so much all for your encouragements and good advise. I really appreciate it. I will definetly finish up saunders CD and get another one. Does anyone know a good prioritizing NCLEX review book/CD with excellent rationals?
