Don't be discouraged. You just may not be a good test taker. Or anxiety about taking it a second time has made you very nervous. What are you having trouble with?

There are days I feel like I'm not cut out to be a nurse either, but I will tell you - a test does NOT define a nurse. I know many a nurse that I look up to greatly that failed at least once or more. Maybe two hours is too much? I know I don't retain all that well after about an hour and a half. What tips did the review course give you? Are you having a lot of test anxiety on the day? When you study, are you reading all the rationales and figuring out if the wrong answer was because of knowledge deficit or because of misunderstanding the question? Because if it's knowledge deficit you need to review content, whereas with misunderstanding the question, you may need to examine questions better (Like the Kaplan answer tree and whatnot). You can do it, don't give up.

What were your previous below passing weaknesses? Do you have test anxiety, are you ESL? What course prep did you take?
What were you exactly studying?
What were your percentage correct?
Did you study questions AND rationales?
I would like to know where your major weaknesses are; knowing and working on those weaknesses before you take the test again will help your success in passing the NCLEX.

What did you study? Did you do lots of test questions and reviewed the rationales? This is what I would suggest you do. The rationale whether you get it right or wrong will explain what key words to look for in the question
If you are having difficulty with rationales, then as Silverdragon has suggested, review questions and rationales. I also suggest getting the NCLEX review book from Kaplan as well as look on Kaplan's website for testing strategies.
Another question is did you struggle in nursing school due to a comprehension issue or English not being your primary language? Sometimes that is a major factor in passing the exam.
I was a B student in nursing school... i study content then did some question. i study for 2 hr a days.. i am 23 single mom, working and i feel i am just tired of failing again and again. this time i really gave it all that i go. I ignored everything around me to prep for this exam.i am just sad
What you need to do is take a short break from studying. Spend time with family and try to relax. Then set a time and do a couple of hours a day but just do questions and read the rationales. Do not rush to resit and do not panic. Take some deep breaths and try not to think about the exam
