What are other people feeling about the exam today? I don't have a great feeling at all!
Once the exam changes to the computerized NCLEX-RN, test takers do not have to worry about these myths anymore. Lucky them! I know looking for these myths made me more nervous. But I had to realize that things could change year to year, and just open the envelop before assuming anything. I also think the thickness of the envelop is subjective, what I feel is thin could be thick to someone else.
Congrats to everyone who passed and all the best to those still waiting for the results. If you were unsuccessful, I hope you do not beat yourself over it, you've already accomplished a lot so far and should be proud! Good luck in the future :)
I passed! Ottawa region.
4 long years plus working full-time through nursing school :)
This was my first attempt and the materials I used to study: did a mock exam, the CRNE official prep book and on-line test, the Mosby's questions. I also used some of the Lippincott questions but I found on a whole that book was a waste of time/money.
Omgthattest, I know many people who did not get a police check while waiting. For me, I decided to wait for the results since I was going to have to pay $50 for the police check in Toronto; in case I failed, I didn't want to pay yet. But recently, I have read and checked on CNO, that a basic name check is enough for registering so I applied for that type with the police (which is cheaper and easier to obtain here). I believe employers prefer the vulnerable sector check though but for people in Toronto, it is a bit harder to get since they require an agency to request it for them. (my school had the form but it's only for students who will be having placements). I plan to get that one if I am requested to do so by a hospital when I am employed.

The name check is all that's ever required (police use your name and DOB only)..However the vulnerable sectors portion doesn't require any specific place of employment..You could just put down CNO as the agency on the form and it'll still be done. Yeah, I didn't want to spend $50 either so I waited until now but now since there is a "high volume of requests" I will have to wait 2 weeks to get the records check

thanks for clarification! I would definitely put down CNO down as an agency if I can, but the Toronto police won't allow individuals to come in and apply anymore, I think they had issues with backlogs and became stricter to get one done. I am just not sure where to get the form if they won't hand one out at the station. Thus I opted for an online application for the basic name check one. 2 weeks was considered fast for Toronto, before they cautioned it would take from 6-12weeks. Other regions such as Peel can receive theirs in 1 week or so I've been told my friends.
