What are other people feeling about the exam today? I don't have a great feeling at all!
The score is scaled to 550 but every exam has a different passing grade, 550 could mean 64% on one exam or 69% on another.
From CNA: "A scaled score is a transformation of a candidate’s raw score (i.e., total number of questions correctly answered) on an exam to a common scale. This scale remains the same for all CRNE examinations no matter when they are administered."
from rnexam.ca: Passing Score:February 2014 RN exam — 550 (Scaled Pass Score)
October 2013 RN exam — 550 (Scaled Pass Score)
June 2013 RN exam — 550 (Scaled Pass Score)
February 2013 RN exam — 550 (Scaled Pass Score)
October 2012 RN exam — 550 (Scaled Pass Score)
June 2012 RN exam — 550 (Scaled Pass Score)
February 2012 RN exam — 120
October 2011 RN exam — 114
June 2011 RN exam — 112
Browsing previous crne threads, people did mention the pass score (ie. 121, 120...) but still are scaled to 550/800. It does not mention if it is out or 180 or 200. I have read it can be up to 20 or under 20 experimental questions though. So I believe it doesn't necessarily mean 550/800=68.75%
Crnerollercoaster - I tried to post a screen shot, but it shows up all jiggity janked and I can't figure out how to resize it for the life of me. I'll do my best to describe what I'm seeing:
I'm in the "Apply for Registration" tab.
On this page there are two headings, the one to the left says "Complete Your Initial RN Registration with CARNA" and gives all the options for the various dates to apply (ie. effective until Sept 30 vs starting Oct 1). The heading on the right side of the page says "Apply for a Temporary Permit and/or Exam", instructing me to click on the links below to complete either permit or exam registration.
At the very bottom of the page this is how it reads (ignore the multiple ellipses, the formatter is being kind of a pain, they're supposed to symbolize space):
You are eligible to apply for the following:
That's it. There's nothing about the RN exam anywhere, no links, nada
However, when I click on the "complete myCCP" link on this same page, it takes me to another page with an option to complete the continuing competence stuff, and it says the credential is "Registered Nurse", and the status is "Active". Have you seen this? Do you know if everyone will see this regardless of the exam result?
What about NS? I have my temporary license and when I logged in to my profile, there's a link there apply for intial license. But when I clicked it, it says cannot connect to database, please try again later. Idk what it means! Plus, I'm not sure if that link was there all along since I got my temporary license last April!
Anybody same with mine? Thanks!
Kikilaroo.....Yes, thats exactly what my page says too :) exact :) no links for exam, mind you I don't get another attempt so wouldn't expect a link to show up there for me. . The only thing thats different is you have temporary permit link there. Mines not there but my permit it older. When i click on permit tab for myself at top it brings me to my permit, which still says active for me , so taking that as positive news for myself ( 3 strikes your out for me) I would think they would inactivate my permit if i failed this time . Yes, myccp opens too, and the date you open it, it records as that date and says RN record..begin practice reflection. However , Myccp was open and my date has Feb 25 -sept. 30/2014 and states RN record, but MyCCP has nothing to do if you passed. I opened mycpp before I got 2nd results on March 13=fail, and myccp record/ learning builder still opened up the entire time I was still waiting to write Junes Exam. I would say if you don't have exam link open for you to click on it looks very positive for you :) when I failed it said you are eligible for " RN exam click here" and when clicked it brought me to exam application.... Your page seems very positive considering my past bad experiences. My friends that passed there exam links were not there....it said exact same thing your page says :) which is how i knew I failed the second time 2 days before i got paper copy in mail. Stay positive, your page seems very positive !!!!
Are you trying to make your own urban myth? Trying to increase your own anxiety? I read your posts where you called the CRNNS yourself and they gave you the answers you wanted to hear! OMG..take a benzo and have a beer stat!
Ok hun, calm down, it seems like you're the one who needs it?! Haha *****, it was a clarification! Your reaction? amazing! Lol I'm very anxious about the result and i have every right to comment here! Oh and yeah you started the thread BTW?! So don't dare hate on the reaction of others coz' when you started this for sure you were looking for the same opinion as you had about the exam to calm yourself down! Don't over react to a post that you don't like because your anxious! Coz' we all are! And read kikilaroo's comment! Not just me knows about that "myth" you're talking about! Oh well i could see how close-minded you are! You just want to hear/read what you want to! Then don't start a thread!!! :-* :) goodluck!!!
If you kids can't play nice, I'm going to have to put the cover on the sandbox.

Ok, thanks for all the help! This exam is the difference between a huge move and a whole new life, so positivity is good! And all the best this time!! Sending plenty of good vibes your way!
I also realized that little CCP thing was totally wrong after I pulled a friend who hasn't even written yet out of bed to log onto CARNA; such a good friend I am.
Kikilaroo.... In Alberta, when you log into your my CARNA account, under registration tab where it says " you are eligible for" up until they enter your results it will say "RN exam accepted" . If you failed the RN exam link becomes open for you to click on it so a blue link that shows the exam application. However, if you were successful nothing changes and it continues to say "RN exam accepted with no link allowing you to click on exam. I figured this out the 2nd time I failed and knew 2 days before getting results in mail, because exam link was open for me to re-apply.
Any BC candidates in this forum who can validate this tip? If I were to log onto CRNBC's website and click 'Exam Registration', will I be able to register for the upcoming October sitting?

For those that know people who failed, any idea what the grade needed to pass for this exam was? I've heard it says how many they needed to get right to pass, and then how many they did get right. Just curious, as I was told by teachers that the passing grade is usually around 64%, but can go as high as 70%.
