CGFNS requires the local license to take the CGFNS exam, but they are not the US government, and most states no longer require the CGFNS exam.

You do not apply to take NCLEX, you apply for licensure in a state, the NCLEX-RN exam is only one step in the licensing procedure, and it is not the only one.

ok.. im kinda confused here.. WHICH IS WHICH?? is local license needed for nclex-rn exam??

I DID MY SEARCH.....AND AS I HAVE SAID ON MY PREVIOUS POST THERE ARE ONLY 4 STATES THAT DOESNT REQUIRE CGFNS.

JUST A FOLLOW UP TO MY PREVIOUS POST:

IF YOU ARE A GREENCARD HOLDER HERE IN THE UNITED STATES YOU CAN TAKE NCLEX EVEN IF YOU DONT HAVE IELTS, TSE, OR TOEFL.....AS LONG AS YOU HAVE YOUR VALID LOCAL NURSING LICENSE......I REPEAT.....LOCAL NURSING LICENSE IS A PRE-REQUISITE TO TAKE NCLEX...NO MATTER WHAT STATE AND NO MATTER WHAT TESTING SITE....

Sorry, but that is not correct. Not sure where you are getting your information from. You only need the English exams if you asre applying for a green card, if you already have one then they are not required for immigration purposes. But a state can require them, and some do. Even if you have a US passport, they are still required if you training out of the US and not in English.

US government does not require the local license for taking the NCLEX exam, it is CGFNS that requires it for taking the CGFNS exam, and that is only required in about four states.

YOUR MOM IS RIGHT. SAIPAN IS JUST ONE OF THE TESTING SITES FOR NCLEX BUT IT DOESNT CHANGE THE REQUIREMENTS TO TAKE NCLEX. IF YOU HAVE QUESTIONS YOU CAN SEARCH THE INTERNET FOR THE REQUIREMENTS. I TOOK MY NCLEX LAST 2004 IN KENTUCKY UNDER THE CALIFORNIA NURSING BOARD...I WAS SUPPOSED TO APPLY FOR RECIPROCITY TO PRACTICE NURSING IN KENTUCKY BUT THE KENTUCKY BOARD IS ASKING ME TO TAKE CGFNS BECAUSE THAT IS ONE OF THE REQUIREMENTS BEFORE THEY CAN ISSUE ME A KENTUCKY NURSING LICENSE...TOO MUCH HASSLE I JUST DECIDED TO MOVE HERE IN CALIFORNIA AND WAS HAPPY WITH MY DECISSION BECAUSE CALIFORNIA IS ONE OF THE HIGHEST PAYING STATE FOR NURSES....

MY SUGGESTION IS.....SEARCH THE INTERNET AND CHECK THE STATE THAT DOESNT REQUIRE TOO MUCH EXAMS FOR FOREIGN GRAD NURSES...ANYWAYS YOU CAN ALWAYS APPLY HERE FOR RECIPROCITY ONCE YOU ALREADY PASS YOUR NCLEX.....GOODLUCK BANJ21

geez.. thanx. but its kinda... frustrating. hehehe. all the while i, i mean, WE thought its not (required). this may be odd for me to ask.. but ill take my shot anyways.... i suppse you have relatives in the states, making it less difficult for u to work there.?? coz u know, i got none. hehehe. my mum's in the other side of the world, but im thinking of working in the states.. for a bigger paycheck and better life for my future family (& for my parents, too) can u give me an advice on how i can actually get my dreams?? hehe. like, if ever i make it on the nle, should i go for the nclex right after? i got big dreams but doesnt really know where to start. thanx

Then you need to do another search, there are only four that require the CGFNS exam. Most require the CES, not the CGFNS exam, and the CES does not require the local license.

The local Filipino license is not required for the NCLEX exam. It is only required for the CGFNS exam.

I don't know. I'm a bit confused already on w/c posted what and who. One posted something then when someone quoted and replied to that post another poster replied as if s/he was the one being quoted or maybe I just made a mistake.

for those of you that are not aware, this is the largest nursing bulletin board in the world, and many employers actually read what is being posted here. the behavior that some of you are exhibiting is just not acceptable behavior, and then you wonder why you are having issues getting placed and with a salary that you can live on.

for this reason alone, this thread is being closed. and behavior like this will not be tolerated here.
