June 2006 Philippine nursing board exam

Published

Who took the exam? I graduated last april 2006 and a candidate to take the exam but I decided to take the december 2006 examination instead hoping for a better score.

I heard a rumor that a review center in baguio had a leakage of the whole NP V and NP III exam, its quite a news in our university as well as in other local forum and other schools.

some of my friends who review on that particular review center confirmed to me that , YES, they had a leakage of around 50 items, most of which are asked in the NP V exam.

My friends attended the same review center but , it in its MANILA branch.

The leakage given to them was in a QUESTION AND ANSWER FORMAT. there are no choices, just the question and the right answer. It was given to them the evening before the exam.

In any case that it will be proven by the board that there was a leakage, the exam results will be forfeited and there will be a retake.

I hope this won't happen this december.

What do you mean by saying:

not right to accused a review center who just want to share their knowledge and give hope to those people who want to pass the board exam..

it's not knowledge they are sharing but a leakage ! They obviously know it's wrong to do so. But why did they perpetuate it ? And what kind of "hope" is it, when it's ill goten and downright CHEATING !

it does not make sense... it's soooo wrong ! And hard it maybe, I am for re-test ! Why ? Though I did not partake of the leakage nor join a formal review, i want to have that security that quality of nurses our country is producing.

all of the test takers are not so sure whether they passed or they failed... the consequence of releasing the result would lead to flooding of complainants at the PRC office right.. those who failed will say it's unfair unfair unfair... that will possibly happen!..so, for this not to happen, the best option is retake... anyway, if you really deserve to pass you will.. you still dont know if you definetely passed or failed the said exam.. god bless...:nurse:

In addendum; this goes beyond the personal aspiration of wanting to pass and work in the US now. Our country has this pride of producing GOOD nurses, let's protect that reputation.

Why... I don't want to to be a part of a batch that passed due to some leakage. And my opinion, if the Philippines pursue on lobbying for NCLEX to be conducted here in PI; PRC, BON and all whole nursing sector should just bite the bullet and give re-test... at least, it would save face and proves that we don't condone cheating but rather do whatever it cost to rectify a wrongful act.

i agree to nursemate...

what's all this talk about testicles increasing in size? before we assume something let us all think first. has r.a. gapuz been implicated in the leakage mess? what we know is that the said center was the one who supposedly leaked the questions and answers to its reviewees but that has yet to be proven. what we do know (for now) is that the 2 members of the BON leaked an undisclosed number of items.

someone here posted that only the 2 BON members should be punished, not the ones who took the leakage (unknowingly). come on guys, if there ever was a leakage i'm sure that the reviewees knew something about it. i DON'T believe that they took the said leakage without knowing that it was wrong to do that. i know we desperately want to blame someone here, someone aside from ourselves but it is pathetic to put the blame solely on others knowing full well that all human beings are capable of choosing to do what is morally right. free will comes with its share of consequences. so does each decision you make.

it is pointless to suggest to the PRC or BON what they should or should not do since they have the prerogative over the matter. what we should do is hope and pray. now with regards to the retake, i honestly think that it's not that bad an idea. it will send a message to the ncsbn and to all the world that we do not tolerate such things in this country. i know that most of the takers come from poor backgrounds and a retake would result to a small-scale financial crisis but that's the consequence. often times the mistake of one and the consequence thereof has to be shared by the whole group, that is how the world works.

but honestly, i don't think that a retake is gonna happen so let's all just wait for the results.

from what i know from the previous leakaged was that only those who reviewed from those suspected review center were asked to retake the exam...

Remember, when you apply for NLE, they have that code if from where review center are you from? So the PRC will know if who wwere those examiners had the privileged to see the leakage and i guess they will need to retake the exam not all of the students.

well then perhaps all of us are suffering major stresses now. i suggest we must help each other think of what would be the best solution for us to recommend the prc. taking another exam wouldn't be the best solution. i believe non of us examinees played any role in promulgating the leakages. if there is someone to be blamed of, that would be the prc, bon, review centers. them all are the principal and accomplice of this subject matter we innocent are currently suffering. since it has been their mistake, let the prc pass all june 2006 examinees,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, deal or no deal?

if they wont agree, hehehhee let all the 42,000 nursing examinees unite as one and hunt them all, torture and feed their cardio vascular systems to the vampires, and to all [color=dimgray]gayssss who ruinned our exams.... wishing that their glans pennis and testis may become even bigger!!!. hehhehehehehehe.

you're right, prc is also responsible, i think prc has also a knowledge about that leakage, we will see the prosper of this investigation... it will havea domino effect, the two bon's will definitely involve someone...and it involves prc...

what about the friends of those who got the leakage? what if they were able to see it too? what about those who did not indicate where they reviewed? will they be exempt? to be totally fair i believe that a retake should be done though that would be very sad.

it's like you're assisting in the OR and you're not sure if the instrument to be used is clean or not. what you do is the safe thing and that is not to use it at all. in this case the legitimacy of the exam is at question and the right thing to do would be to rectify the situation the best way possible.

I graduated last year most of my friends are now RN's since i finished my BSN up to the present I didnt enrolled myself nor have any friends that reviewed in GAPUZ / PENTAGON / ORACLE / EASTWEST / ETC. I took the exam merely by just doing some self study at home. About your concern(JUN C) , I think, lets just consider those person seeing some leakages from their friends as their BONUS. Beside wheather a Leak or None has been done what is 119 Questions that has been scattered anyway! I believe that if we deserve to pass even there is or no leakage at all. the truth of being prepared and our mental capacity for the so-called licnsure exam will prevail.

I am wishing that since it has been the PRC's Fault, lets just pray that they should consider the TEST 3 of our exam where some of the leak has come out. I believe Test 3 has been a tricky part and even Physicians who took the NLE had dificult time to answer many of the question. Lets just pray that the PRC will remove the passing score 60% of that part since for sure many of those who have in hands the copy of the leakages will result to high raw score pulling down many of average examinees.
