i will retake my nclex on june 27 and i really need to pass this exam. good luck to all !!!:typing
I took NCLEX-RN yesterday morning... I had 23 SATA's, 1 drop and drag, 3 calculations, a bunch of medications, and prioritization. I had around 243 questions... I lost track because I was getting so nervous and losing hope. I sat there for 5 hours and 57 minutes. It was torture! I've been told the theory on SATA's being upper-level questions, most of mine were in the beginning and then they started to become less and less. My last 2 questions: one was the drag and drop, and the last I believe was priority. Any thoughts? I feel about 99.8% sure that I failed. I used Kaplan and got a 63% on my readiness and averaged a 59% in the Qbank. However, I felt that when using the "decision tree" I had TONS of questions that went straight from step one to step five. Which was extremely frustrating!
Congrats to everyone who passed! :redbeathe
To Aprilnewgrad,
For the lab values, I studied Saunder's values, but I really believe that if you will be tested on lab values, the exam will give you a very obviously wrong answer (e.g. pt iwth 125 mg/dL for sodium..obviously too low, or 155 which is obviously too high)...I really doubt they would give a lab value that is 1-5 points off (unless maybe it's lithium or digoxin)....Personally, what I did was I studied at least the rough estimate (e.g. Na+: 135-145, Ca: 9-10.5)., because even in hospitals, normal lab values vary.

Like someone before has said (maybe in another thread) everyone is different. The number of questions you get varies by each person, but just because you got a lot of questions does not mean you failed, it just means that the computer needed to ask more questions to sense a "pattern" (if you're above or below the baseline). My boyfriend's sister took NCLEX last year and took all 6 hours to answer all 265 questions. And you know what happened? She passed! And now she has a job in a very good hospital. :)
Oh and by the way, my average qbank score was 58%. I got a 66% on the readiness test, but ranged from 50%-61% on the question trainers.
If you haven't checked out this thread, I recommend it:

A lot of people shared their Kaplan scores and everyone was different, even with the number of questions they got on NCLEX, but they seemed to have all passed.
I did NCLEX PN yesterday. had 86 qstns and am soooooo worried because i dont think the pearson trick is working for me!!!! am thinking i failed! oooh God! i started checking hours after the exam, it didnt let me but after several hours it let me go all the way to confirm cc. uuuggggh. any hope?????

Im studying lab values right now and my books vary in their values. For example, Hct is 40-48 for females in Kaplan book, while Saunders is 35-47. What gives? How will I know what lab values are correct for the Nclex? I would hate to fail my exam because I studed the wrong values. Please help!!
