June CEP applicants

Published

I know it's still a ways off but I was SUPER excited to see the application session was available for registration tonight! So I thought I'd start a thread for those of us applying in June.

I'm applying for CEP with upper Iowa and I can't wait. I've already been in contact with the Iowa advisor and she has been SO incredibly helpful and nice answering my millions of questions and setting me up with a game plan for classes.

So who else is applying?

Can you explain what the fast track option is through NAU? Its just that you finish your BSN + the Maricopa work in 2 years right?

The courses are structured through the summer and more classes during the school year ... 4 semesters and 2 summers. The benefit is that you will graduate a semester early. Go to MaricopaNursing Programs | Academic & Student Affairs | Maricopa Community Colleges and select "CEP", then select "program brochure". :)

Haha I've gotten so much mixed information. The GWCC advisor told me at the information meeting that they didn't let people doing the CEP stack with the fast-track. I was hoping to do a program that only took a year and a half like GCU, sounds like this might still be an option then!

The fast track the person is talking about is for the NAU portion of the CEP. You can find it on the website they posted, it lays out the courses of study for fall entry, spring entry, and the fast track under the NAU brochure.

June is just around the corner! I don't know about you guys but the closer it gets the more excited I get too. I know it's just the application session but still...the thought of applying and getting accepted for an official start date is just so exciting to me!

Anyone else joining the June CEP application club?

I should be! I'm going in tomorrow to hopefully get the first stage of my application turned in so I can then go through the CEP steps :). Re-took the HESI on Friday because it took less time to do that than to get the HESI scores sent over to Gateway. Fingers crossed they've received everything I need for the initial Maricopa Nursing application!

I am attending the application session in June at EMCC and I am SO excited! I have been waiting for this for such a long time and can't wait to actually hand them my application!

My first choice will be GCC/NAU traditional, with EMCC as second choice.

Hi everyone. I'm glad that I finally found a post for the June application session. I too will be applying in June, on the 3rd specifically. I'm so ready to get into a program that I'm applying for all 3 universities (1st choice ASU, 2nd NAU, 3rd UIU) with GWCC as my first choice for the MCCC & Scottsdale for my 2nd choice only because I work at Scottsdale Health care Osborn (Honor Health now), but I'm honestly open to going to any campus lol. I'm just ready to be a nurse!!

Well it looks like I'm unfortunately NOT attending the CEP session in June. My advisor missed something pretty crucial on my application the very first time we met - I've never taken ENG 102, but took 105 (which covers 101-102) and a CLEP test for English. Apparently Maricopa doesn't accept CLEP credit for 102, and wouldn't accept 105 to cover 102 and it was too late for me to take it anywhere else and finish in time for the session. It's absolutely wild to me that you need classes 100% complete before applying to CEPs but I guess thats all she wrote for Maricopa. Wish they would have caught that... I would have had time to take it via Rio and finish in time for the June CEP sessions.

At this point since I wouldn't be able start until next fall and its essentially a 2.5-3 year program I'm focusing on ASU, GCU, and the UofA MEPN because even if I don't get in any until next fall, I'll still be done quicker than the Maricopa programs. Good luck to y'all who are still going for it!

What a bummer! It's so frustrating when little things like that slip through the cracks :( good luck to you with your other paths!

if you take your class you need this summer you can still apply in June with the CEP. Now they are doing it where you can have up to 7 credits pending. All your grades have to be in by I believe August.

I don't think that applies to the Maricopa prerequisites. You have to have eng 102 before you can get on the wait list at all. But for the university prereqs you can have up to 7 of those in progress and still apply.
