June CEP applicants

U.S.A. Arizona

Published

I know it's still a ways off but I was SUPER excited to see the application session was available for registration tonight! So I thought I'd start a thread for those of us applying in June.

I'm applying for CEP with upper Iowa and I can't wait. I've already been in contact with the Iowa advisor and she has been SO incredibly helpful and nice answering my millions of questions and setting me up with a game plan for classes.

So who else is applying?

Hi Krystal,

I do have FB, but I can't post my email on here so you know how to find me :( I also don't know how to send a private message. If you know how to do that, feel free to message me so we can connect on FB.

I sent you a message! (I think!) haha

So eager to get started!!!

Just got accepted into gateway/NAU!

Good luck everyone and I wish everyone the best on this new exciting journey we are beginning:)

Hi AzNURSINGgirl,

I am in the same cohort, my name is Sophia. Have you received any information yet regarding our classes or books required? I am get anxious with us all starting by the end of the month and no further information on what we need. I have purchased my uniforms, stethoscope and today my shoes. Time is almost up and from what it shows I haven't been added to the the classes yet so I am feeling a bit unprepared this close to start date.

They said at the orientation they are enrolling us second week of August most likely so I'm assuming this coming week we should start getting more information on what we need specifically for classes! And when they are and what not 😊 I'm SCC/NAU btw

Hey guys.

I ended up changing my university to asu now because I'm having a baby this Thursday and didn't want the hassle of going into class 2 weeks post partum . originally when I applied to the cep I was under the impression NUR 330 was online but they changed it to in person so I'm now sticking to asu because they are all online, & ill start block one in jan like everyone else:)

Good luck guys! Nau people I believe have a bit of an advantage starting out because the class u guys are starting, from what I've heard from my advisor is fun. The lab portion anyways, she says they will have basic nursing skills that have been practiced in the nur 330 lab to more prepare you guys for block one in jan. I'm bummed ill be missing out on that but its what will make me more successful in the long run!

Good luck everyone:)

I can't wait to finally be admitted to NAU. Congrats to everyone who's already been admitted into their university! I pretty much have everything ready to go as far as my transcripts being sent, CPR Certification and immunizations...I'm just wigging about financial aid. With my previous degree, I was fortunate to live at home, while working full-time to pay my tuition. I'm just nervous about the process, especially because I work full-time now, but may go down to part-time if the work load becomes too much. I know my questions will get answered at orientation, so here's hoping all goes in my favor!

Hi everyone!, I was wondering if any of you know anything about Franklin Pierce University program? I applied just to apply since I was missing one class for ASU on the application session and I got it, but I have a weird feeling about this university i don't know why but i do maybe because i wanted to do the ASU program, Im ok waiting for the next application session to apply for ASU but since i got accepted for FPU i can start block 1 spring 2016 but the weird thing is that the university told me that i won't be taking their classes till spring 2016, so if any of you know anything about FPU i would really appreciate your input since i need to make up my mind to continue and register for classes with the university or decline my acceptance and apply for ASU thank you!! :)

I'm with Upper Iowa but I did look at FP a while ago (then they made it not an option so I didn't pursue it any further).

UIU also doesn't start their courses until spring 2016. There is an option to take one course ahead of time but if you don't then you just take it starting in spring. So I wouldn't worry about the fact that FP doesn't have a course beforehand.

Also, FP is a regionally accredited college (last I checked anyways) so you shouldn't have any issues. Hope that helps!

I chose UIU for a couple reasons. One, I needed less classes to be able to apply for them then I would need for NAU or ASU. Two, the nursing advisor told me that it is a really great program through them and she highly recommended it especially because of my class requirement situation (only needed 2 extras for them but more like 4 or 5 for asu/NAU). Three, since getting in touch with the UIU advisor via email to ask questions about pre-req's and in progress classes she has been so helpful, always emails me back in a timely manner even if just to say she is checking with someone else to give me correct info.

Also, UIU has a campus in Mesa so I know it sounds weird at first that it's Iowa but they have an in person campus in Mesa for lots of their programs, not just the BSN.

Hope that helps!

Hi AZBlueBell!

Did you end up applying to UIU with classes in progress? I'm trying to figure out how many credits (if any) you can have in progress when applying! Any info would be much appreciated : )
