JU Accelerated BSN 2015

U.S.A. Florida

Hello y'all! It seems there is no thread yet for JU (Jacksonville University) ABSN cohort for 2015, so I wanted to get the ball rolling, as the application deadline is fast approaching. How is it going for you? Are you applying to several other local schools? What's your background? Look forward to hearing from you and sharing experiences (and hopefully making it into the program together:))

Hey Yulia, I also have my app in at JU. I just got an email today stating they would be in touch with me after January 15 in regards to the interview date. My 4 year GPA is not the best 2.7 but my prereqs GPA are 4.0 across the board in all classes and for being 24 I have a well rounded work resume. So those two things should carry some weight. In the end who knows. JU's tuition at $56k is the most expensive in the state. But keep in mind when speaking with many advisors from various universites, they all had the same message, JUST GET IN because there is such a bottle neck of people jocking to get into these ABSN programs. I also have my application in at UM, USF & UF. I know FSU just changed their enrollment dates to July-Sept 2015. And their program is not starting until January 2016. So they are not having at 2015 class. I did not take the TEAS so that eliminated UCF, UNF, FIU & FAU. And I did not apply to Remington in Orlando or Barry. How about yourself?

Hi all! I also applied for the accelerated BSN for May of this year. I am eagerly waiting to hear something soon. I tried UNF in the past but there were just too many applicants. My overall GPA isn't as high either but I'm hoping my work experience will help make up for it. I hope we all make it in! Best of luck!

Hello! I also applied to the JU accelerated BSN. I got en email today informing me that I am being invited for an interview, anyone else??

I got an email saying the same as well. But to be honest, I JUST realized how expensive JU is... Around $78,000 without any scholarships/grants/fin aid... Idk if I should decline the interview due to the cost but what if I only get into their school? I just don't want all these student loans that's more expensive than UM.

Not sure where you got that from but Stephanie bloom emailed me a few months ago saying the absn program runs about $56k before scholarships...can you shed some light on the $78k number?

Well it's $15,685 per semester and its 4 semesters for the accelerated program at JU. So that number times 4 is around $63,000.

To be honest I don't remember how I got $75,000 I probably added in books and supplies and student insurance that was on there but the raw score of tuition is around $63,000. And that before scholarships (if I even were to receive any). That's more expensive than UM. I just don't know if it's worth it...

:(( I'm still deciding

Hey everyone! So, I got an interview for the accelerated program as well. Mine is this Tuesday (1/27) and I dont know why, but im so nervous. When is yall's interview?? Im super excited for JU. My sister graduated in 2013, and she said it was very hard and very expensive, but the best decision she has ever made (: I only applied to JU (i know, im crazy), so Im crossing my fingers!!

Interviewed as well. Waiting for word back. Was told that they will be mailing letters in March. Good luck to all of you!

I'm checking my mailbox already even though I know we won't hear anything until March :/

Current JU nursing student. I have seen all of you waiting to interview in the atrium. I hope you receive good news. JU was the only school I applied to because its the only school I had any interest of going to, and I got in. It truly is the best in the region. Just be ready to work and work and work some more if accepted, as you will be expected to keep up the reputation of the University. Best of luck.

Thank you! My sister graduated from JU nursing and she loved it! I'm keeping my fingers crossed, as this is the only school I applied to as well!
