I took the RN local board in the Philippines last year. Together with me who took the exam was a family-friend and also our doctor. She asked me to phone her once I've seen the release of the list of passers. So one night I was browsing the internet - PRC website and INQ7 to look for RN passers when suddenly both publish the list. In short, I tried to look for my name and was filled with joy when I saw it. I remember the request of my friend so I look for her name also and saw it too.
So I phone her and told her "Doktora, nurse na po kayo!!!" (Doctor, you're now a nurse!!!")......

sounded comically ironic, didn't it? but many second coursers from managerial/supervisorial positions seem to take the switch to nursing quite well. i often take the chance of asking them about it. the doctors-turned-nurses usually recount the frustrations (local) and cite risks (overseas) of being a doctor abroad. those from other fields don't speak as much as evidence the enthusiam of learning the nursing ropes. it's a marvel to watch these people!
p.s. when i grow up i wanna be a nurse too!

My teacher said that doctors have M.D which now means "Mayaman Dati" (Used to be rich) and the nurses are R.N which means "Rich Na" (Already Rich or is now Rich).
I hope my name will be included in the list of new RN's when the results of june 2006 NLE will come out.........
