Johns Hopkins University BSN/MSN Fall 2011

Published

Greetings Everyone!

I know this is early to make a thread for the Fall 2011 Hopkins Applicants! But still, it is better to start getting ready than waiting at the last minute! I highly suggest everyone start getting your letters of recommendations, and just hide it until you are ready to apply. I will be applying and submitting my application around September 2010 as an early decision applicant for Fall 2011.

I have to finish up Anatomy and Physiology I and II, Developmental Psychology, and one more chemistry class this coming Summer 2010. During the Fall of 2010 and Spring 2011, I will be finishing up just general requirements like history, Microbiology, English Composition, Statistics, some foreign languages, and humanities (elective classes).

I will be applying for the BSN Traditional Program considering I do not have a degree, thus, I am not qualified to apply for the accelerated program. I'm really excited about this.

I will only be applying to UPenn and Johns Hopkins University for my BSN traditional program. If I do not get accepted, I will be attending my current university's school of nursing. I am already in the university's nursing program, but I don't start clinical preceptorship until 2 years from now.

I will graduate May 2013 regardless where I go. Either JHU or UPenn or stay at my current university.

If I will be accepted at either JHU or UPenn, then definitely I will be attending those schools! I love nursing research, and I want to learn more about research and providing quality care to our patients.

We will see how it will go. I have six months until I submit my application to both schools. Remember time is running fast.

Hope everyone are doing well on their pre-requisites! Good luck to all!

Feel free to post around so we can help each other for Fall 2011! I've read the thread for the JHU Fall 2010. I've noticed everyone in that thread got accepted, and some waitlisted! Its a good sign!

Have a wonderful day!

ughhhh....i can't believe us regular decision-ers still have to wait till February!!!!

nothing for me either. In last year's thread it seemed like they were making calls until the 16th & 17th of December. So maybe they are contacting people all week? Who knows... well tomorrow is another day! good luck to all those anxiously waiting out there!!

Calls are happening, People! I'm in for Accelerated BS/MSN Peds. I can hardly believe it!

Congrats Cartwheel that is so exciting! now you can let out a big sigh of relief and celebrate!!!! did they give you a call in the morning? I'm still waiting to get news from them..whether it be a phone call or letter :(...the email i received from admissions said they will send out notification letters on or about the 15th! arrgh i'm so glad at least 2 ppl from this thread has heard back! :D

Sort of odd that they're spreading it over about a week apparently.

This information probably isn't of interest to anyone, but they almost certainly had the letters ready to be sent out on Monday. I mentioned during the call that I'd be leaving the country for the Christmas Holiday this Friday, so they sent me a scanned copy of the letter of acceptance to my email (and I know it's not a generic one because it has my details and mentions that I need to complete and submit transcripts for two of the pre-requisite classes that I didn't have done by the admissions deadline).

Hey everyone!!! They are calling!!! I got my call 220 this afternoon pacific time. I am in for the ABSN MSN Forensic CNS. Good luck to those still waiting!

Congrats!! I also got a call! My decision is "on hold" until I send in my grades for my current prereq courses that I just finished. I already sent them in so I guess I am still waiting for a final decision... She sounded very positive and said that the committee just wants to see my current grades since I have been out of school 10 years and my undergrad GPA was low. I got As in both my classes so I hope that helps. Ugh... not sure how to feel I want to be excited but I cant get there yet and I hear a final YES!!

I talked to the admissions office earlier today and they said they sent the rest of the notification letters today. When I asked if they are calling everyone that gets accepted she said they are calling as many people as they can but that everyone will find out the decision via mail. I didnt really understand exactly what she meant. Maybe they arent calling everyone who got in this year?? I dont know... has anyone heard anything different?

I did received my call late though... about 3pm PST.

So all the early decisions have been made? Do they email by chance? So I guess no news now is rejection...

I wouldn't draw the conclusion that you've been rejected, but I'm pretty sure the institution has finalized their list of who's in and are in the process of notifying them.

They only emailed me because I specifically asked for the material to be sent that way (since I'm leaving on Friday and getting back on the 10th of January, if the mailing was delayed I would have been really rushed to get in my deposit by the 15th).

Don't count yourself out until you get something in the mail. By what I've seen on this board and elsewhere, some people are getting the calls while others aren't (or haven't yet at least).

Big congrats to everyone who received a call today! :yeah:It's finally starting to sink in and I'm super excited!

For those that haven't received a call, don't lose hope yet. I know the admissions committee was making final decisions late into the day. If you really want to know, you can always call them, but I'm betting they'll make calls tomorrow too.

Congrats to those who are accepted! & for the rest of us who are still waiting, keep the posts coming! I am curious if they call those who'd applied for the ABSN and MSN's first, and go down the list to call the BSN's last?

Congrats to everyone who has been accepted! Has anyone gotten any calls today?
