Johns Hopkins MSN Entry into Nursing Spring 2018

Published

Hello!

I haven't seen any threads yet about the Johns Hopkins accelerated MSN program for Spring of 2018 so I thought I would start one to chat with other hopefuls like myself!

Also, if anyone who has previously been accepted into the program, any and all advice would be greatly appreciated! For now, I have a few questions:

-Does anyone know if all parts of the application are weighed equally or which ones they place the most emphasis on?

- I took the GRE once and I scored in the 82nd percentile for verbal reasoning (score: 159), 93rd percentile for analytical writing (score: 5), and the 55th percentile in quantitative reasoning (score: 154  ) Should I retake it to improve my math score? My fear is that I'll take it again and do worse!

- What is their acceptance rate?

- Any good tips for the personal statements? I'm finding that it's very difficult to articulate why I want to be a nurse without sounding cheesy.

- Where else are y'all applying?

I think that's all for now! I look forward to chatting with everyone and wish you all the best of luck!

HAHA! Me too, me too! When I submitted my application back in June, the admissions team reported that they are hoping to have decisions released on September 1.

Hello, can you work and be in this program?

Hi everyone! Only about 2 weeks left of August... anyone heard an update of when decisions will be released? Anxiously waiting.

Hey. I believe the application deadline was today and then we should hear back some time in September. Does anyone know how often they give scholarships and how large they are? Maybe someone who has already been in the program?

Trying to wait patiently. I've applied to 3 programs and haven't heard from any... All of my documents were submitted by June 15... Good luck all!

The last I heard was they planned to release decisions on or around September 1st. Fingers crossed for everyone! I submitted in June and it's killing me waiting this long haha.

Also, going along with @Sarah44, if anyone has any info on how often JH gives out scholarships and the amounts (besides what's on the website), that would be incredibly helpful!

Would anybody be looking for a roommate if accepted? I am from Charleston, SC and will be looking for a nice, safe area to move to if anyone has suggestions?

If anyone hears any updates on decisions being released - or is offered admission, can you all post on here so we can keep each other updated?

Has anyone received any emails about application received; under review? I have applied since the end of June and has not received any emails. I am getting anxious.

@Yahdji If your application was "verified" through NursingCAS, that means that it was submitted to JH.

Hi everyone! Just joining in on the conversation and sharing in the anticipation of the response from JH :-) only a little over a week left until we may start to hear back (I believe beginning of September is when we're supposed to get the decisions?) - can't believe it's almost time! Not going to lie, I keep refreshing my email every 5 minutes, even though we probably won't hear anything for another couple of weeks lol... how's everyone dealing with the anxiety? 😬 Need a good distraction!

Hi msmsn! I also keep checking my email every few minutes! Do you know if anyone has reached out to the admission's team to see if there is any updates as to the day decisions will be released? I am not dealing well with the anxiety (obviously LOL)!
