Johns Hopkins Hospital Nurse Residency Program 2020

Published

Hi,

I have applied for and received an invite to interview at JHH on a pediatric unit. I figured since there are previous threads for past years I'd start a new one for 2020 hires/start dates! Lets all keep each other informed and updated through the process.

Hey! just got my offer to start in the Ortho/Trauma unit for a new grad position. I’ll be starting at the end of August and am coming from out of state and will be looking for apartments as well!

Congratulations! ????

We can all plan a date to come into Baltimore and do apartment hunting! I am considering end of April or May.

Had interview yesterday! .. tbh not sure how it went, I feel I could have done so much better. Two weeks to wait for a response, will let you know for sure! haha

Congratulations to everyone who has been getting job offers!! if I get one too I would also love to meet up and hopefully find housing we could share! I dont want to be all alone haha I would be coming from Miami.

Hey guys,

Is anyone from an out of state, non compact state who received an offer and is deciding where to apply for licensure? I am stuck between what JHH is telling me and what my school is telling me. JHH is saying to apply for RN license in my home state and apply for a temp license in MD and a permanent license after I get my temp license while my school is saying to just apply in MD altogether. I feel that it makes more sense to just apply in MD as it is less logistics but I have spoken to multiple people from JHH who all say to take it in my home state and apply for MD license after getting a temp license. LMK if anyone is in the same boat!

Hey! I am coming from out of state (a non compact state) and my school has told me to take my states boards and then transfer them over. They said that the reason being is because that the qualifications to sit for my state boards may be different than Maryland’s.

@ACG.RN.BSN.2020 hello. I am from california (non compact) and graduated in december 2019. I got a California license and then transfered over to maryland and got a temporary first. Temporary only took about 2 weeks to get.

Just had my interview for the Cardiovascular SICU.. to be honest I don't know how to feel about it. Anyone else interviewed w them and got an offer? or are still waiting ?

I also applied on the CVSICU. Still waiting to hear back. Wish I was able to do share time. Feels weird not knowing the culture/climate on the unit. I asked a few questions about the climate but the responses were so vague.

I'm also coming from out of state (Florida) I'm due to start orientation on May 4th. I just took the NCLEX this morning and I'm freaking out. I tried the PVT and got the "good pop up" so I'm REALLY hoping that's a good sign and it translate to me passing. I hate worrying and I know I will get ZERO sleep tonight.

Anywho I received a email from nurse recruitment and as of right now orientation is being held via zoom and the employee health appt for all May starts for out of state new hires is being done remote. They said they will send out a new email with additional information.

Nooooooo please don’t give up! I applied to almost every position cos I figured that out of more than 10 positions one or two or more would click, except those I absolutely knew I wouldn’t do. I even applied to Peds! Almost all pediatrics positions said no to me maybe cos I had little clinicals there. Apply to other open positions there, just don’t give up!

I applied to one more (the Weingberg ICU) but I never heard back about that one. perhaps they give me an interview later on, but I am not sure. Thank you for being so sweet! The reason I didn't apply to more than those was because I suck at lying and I was so not sure how I would do on interviews to places I had no interest in LOL
