Johns Hopkins Hospital Nurse Residency 2017

Hi everyone!!

I recently accepted a job at JHH in the nurse residency program on the MICU and I start February 06, 2017. I wanted to reach out and see if anyone else is starting then/ or around that date? Also what units, when your taking NCLEX and how your feeling nearing the end of school?! :roflmao:

I am pretty much done with everything! I just have to get my ID a week before my start date and find a place where to live. Congratulations on passing! I took mine the 5th and I was so excited when I found out I passed:) Best feeling ever.

Yesss it def is the best feeling!!!! That's great you have everything done. I basically do but I won't do my OCC health until about August 1st or so. I haven't got the link yet. Did they send you a link where you go in and make ur appt?? I guess at that time I'll go in and fill out all the paper work, sign forms, take badge photo. !! Lemme kno how mt Vernon is. Hi Everyone,

I will be starting as a new grad in the JHH Residency Program as well on July 31st in one of their surgical ICUs, anxious and excited at the same time.

Friends of mine who live in the city have suggested Butcher's Hill and Brewers Hill as alternatives to Fells Point, Canton, Federal Hill for much cheaper rent and walking distance to the hospital itself.

I recently just found a place for about 700 bucks a month for a master bedroom and an entire floor of the row home to myself.

You're in Ellicot City? That's so close, I just recently moved down to Columbia! I made the drive over to the hospital from here for the occupational health appointment and the drive wasn't too terrible. The wait for the health screening was pretty long though, I got there at 8:20am for a 9am appointment and didn't get out until around 12pm. So just make sure to bring something along to pass the time because apparently it's always like that for their new hire screenings.

Congrats on passing the NCLEX, erin and deavilaxoxo! I just took mine the 17th and found out I passed today I'm so relieved omg. Oh also for the badge photo they wouldn't let me take it until it was less than 2 weeks before my start date so I have to go in sometime next week again to take the photo.

Yes! I'll be in Ellicot city. But I want to move closer to the city for sure. I'm moving in two weeks and my occ health visit is August 7th! Thanks for the heads up about the long wait. I start aug 28th so most likely I'll have to come back for the badge photo as well. After your OCc health visit did you go sign stuff in nurse recruitment?? And did you get ur schedule yet beyond those first two days??

Hi guys,

I hope you're all enjoying your jobs. I was wondering if you could tell me how it's going at Hopkins.

I have the hospital orientation next Monday and nursing orientation on Tuesday. Do we get our schedule right after and start working the same week? Anything you could tell me would help as I start this new phase of my life soon.
