Hi Everyone,
I wanted to start a thread for the Johns Hopkins Entry into Nursing MSN program for August 2021 applicants. I started my application this week, aiming to get it in well before the November 1st deadline . Anyone else??

I was accepted on the very last day of that week and pretty late into the evening. I was getting super discouraged because it seemed like a lottttt of people had already gotten accepted by Monday or Tuesday, so I thought for sure I’d be rejected. It is still possible to be accepted at the end of the week, do not lose hope!!
How long after your admission did they let you know how much scholarships and financial aid you were going to receive?

Of course! I received $15,000 total (not per semester), which hardly puts a dent in the overall tuition ? although I am extremely grateful. To be fair, I wasn't even expecting to get into JHU, so I was super surprised I actually got a scholarship. Others in this thread mentioned receiving much more in their merit scholarships, so it's definitely possible!

I wasn't expecting to get into JHU either. Or Duke. I just applied to both of those schools on a whim, thinking, "what the heck? Let's see what happens." But I got into both after putting my money down on MUSC. JHUSON offered me two scholarships totaling $35,000 with my acceptance ($10,000 and $25,000). They do not offer needs-based scholarships. I think it might be because their program is a Masters??? So, I'm going with Duke. Good luck! If you can make it work, go for it!!

I also applied to Duke with the idea that I wouldn't get in. So I never filled out the CCS profile which is required if you want to receive any aid ?. So it looks like I won't be going to Duke since it will be too expensive.
This year, most early deadline applicants (at least those of us who have been posting on AllNurses) were getting notified the week of January 11th, which is maybe about 1-2 weeks after what they listed on the website ("Late December/Early January").
The website indicates notification in early March for the January applicant group, but I'll assume these decisions will also be delayed 1-2 weeks. If that's the case, I'll estimate they'll be ready the week of March 22nd. Although I'm REALLY hoping for the week of March 15th or even earlier.?(BTW, anyone notice "Students Notified of Acceptance" on the chart? haha... Maybe I'm reading too much into this).

That's awesome you got what sounds like a great scholarship to attend Duke! Do you know anything about the merit scholarship ($40,000 total)? I did write the essay and submit it with my application but I'm assuming I didn't get it haha. It's only one scholarship per cohort. ? Since they offer next to no merit scholarships (unlike Hopkins), I assume they "make up" for this in needs-based scholarships.

Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that. Maybe you can explain your situation and ask them if you can still fill it out? The deadline to respond isn't until the end of the month.. I thought the CSS profile was ridiculous - I almost did not fill it out. Also, it cost like $35, which I thought was weird. Like why would I pay for a financial aid application to a school that I might not even get into?

No, that scholarship was from JHUSON. Duke hasn't sent out their scholarship decisions yet.
