Johns Hopkins Entry into Nursing (MSN) Spring 2021

Published

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to start a thread for the Johns Hopkins entry into nursing MSN program for January 2021 applicants. I just started my application this week, aiming to get it in well before the July 1st deadline. Anyone else?? ?

Also, if anyone previously accepted here has any application tips, please do share. Thank you!

Anyone on the waitlist hoping to get accepted for Sping 21 like me?

I was also waitlisted, but decided to accept UMSON. According to what I have researched, persons on JH waitlist has limited chance of being contacted; hence, I am not waiting to hear from them. UMSON is also one of the best nursing schools and is cheaper. If JH contacts, than, I will deal with it as it comes. Not going to waste my time waiting to see if I do get into JH when I can be further in a good program.

Thanks EagleEyes, good luck at UMSON!  I didn't applied to other nursing school and hence I have to wait.  If JH don't take me this semester, I will apply again for the Fall 21 hoping to have a different results next time around ?  Still have hope to get in for the Spring21 though haha.

It is good to keep hope alive, you might just get called. I wish you do get called. Though, both nursing schools are located in Baltimore, UMSON clinical sites are better for me commute-wise. I live quite far from the school and might have to get an apartment to stay at twice a week. It was mentioned that JH reviews application holistically and I think so. LOL. My pride was kind of bruised when I was waitlisted. I was also surprised due to my GPA, Prerequisites, work organization (My organization also funds JH), top notch recommendations, essay, etc. So, maybe it wasn't meant to be for me. It was also way too expensive as I still owe loans for my MPH program. In addition, their clinical sites are further out then UMSON. I have one prerequisite (Chemistry) left and is currently working on it. JH doesn't require it; plus, they were supposed to take 6 transferred credits from my MPH program. They do not do more than 6 credits.

I really hope you do hear from them; especially, if it was the only place you applied. Good luck.

Your stats are very impressive.  It doesn't matty where you go, you will succeed.  I willing to wait because JH is my top choice and my only choice ?  Thanks for the encouragement, though I feel they accepted more students than available seats and they're waiting for all the accepted students to respond before they go to the waitlisted and to be honest I feel like I'm on the bottom of the list haha

JHU waitlists folks so they can review the applications that come in after priority deadline before making their final decision on the remaining seats.

@NurseNow1,

Good things do happen. From past posts listed on here, more than a few people were previously waitlisted and got accepted this time around, so don't give up. If you want JH, continue to try until you get into JH. My suggestion is, you should also apply to another nursing program as a backup plan - at least your #2 choice school. Depending on if you have the time to wait. Stay optimistic and don't let the waitlist issue stress you out. It will definitely get better with time.

Thanks for sharing this information.

Has anyone who applied in September heard anything yet?

if anyone on the waitlist gets offered a spot can you comment on here? I'd love to know if/when they start going to the waitlist!

I'm on the waiting list but I haven't heard anything yet.

does anyone have the link for the online chat that’s today? I can’t find where to log in
