Johns Hopkins Entry into Nursing (MSN) Spring 2021

Published

Hi Everyone,

I wanted to start a thread for the Johns Hopkins entry into nursing MSN program for January 2021 applicants. I just started my application this week, aiming to get it in well before the July 1st deadline. Anyone else?? ?

Also, if anyone previously accepted here has any application tips, please do share. Thank you!

Are the 929 apartments bad? I heard many students live there. I was looking into them but IDK if there are better alternatives around the area.

I've only been here for about a month.  I've only been in my apartment which is a four-bedroom, and classmates in a studio.  I like the layout of my apartment.  My room is kind of small, which I was expecting; like a dorm room.  My is furnished and the bed and dresser and large, but the desk is small.  I had to creative with the layout and bought tall wire shelving.

Overall the place is nice.  The internet is some weird thing that is cable internet but satellite TV.  Most channels are standard definition.  Quite a few come in snowy or statically.  Reminds of the days before digital over the air.

If you bring a car, the Ashland Garage is right behind the building.

And there are a lot of students here.  You have to be associated with JHU to live here.  Thus, it's expected.

The studio apartment was nice too.  I can't comment much on spacing.  Overall, probably livable for one person who did not bring a lot of electric toys and what not.

You could look into the Jefferson Apartments.  One of classmates pays the rent for studio as the 929.  I don't know about any roommate matching they may do.

Roommate matching is like any other system, kind of hit or miss.  I've been doing a lot of cleaning because before I got here, they were not as clean as me.  I have some OCD cleanliness issues.  I've notice the water here is hard.

But I wanted within walking distance and cheap.

I do hear sirens a few times a day.  Then again, I'm only a few blocks from the hospital.

I've heard some people don't like the place.  It has it's issues, but overall, I think it's alright.  I know there is video a med student did of his apartment.  If they have a in person Accepted Students Day for you, you may want to check it out; or the Jefferson if you looking for walking distance.  If you're from out of town, a commercial building may be a safe route to go since you'll be unable to do a walk through.

I can say that the leasing manager, Monica, is very friendly and been very patient with some of my quirky requests.

Hey! Has anyone filled out the CSS Profile or only FAFSA? I'm trying to get in contact with FA but their only taking emails for now.

I had completed the 2020-2021 FAFSA at the start of the application period around June and included all my prospective institutions. I'm unsure what the CSS profile is.

I received mine today I love it!

Did the accept students for this cycle wrote only 2 promt response to the application questions or 3?  I got waitlisted and seems that I need to make changes to my application for the round, but just wondering if it necessary to reponds to all 3 essay questions?  Thanks

I only did two. I hope someone can answer whether it makes your application any stronger.

I did 3! I was waitlisted initially when I applied and made the change to write three for the following application.
