Johns Hopins Accelerated BSN

U.S.A. Maryland

Published

Hello everyone,

I am applying to JHU's accelerated BSN program. I am wondering if anyone can offer any insight into how competitive the admissions process is, what GRE scores are considered good, etc.

Also, if anyone is/was enrolled in the program, any insider information would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Stacy

I've heard a few people who applied RD got early news telling them they were rejected. So in your case no news is still good news. Have you thought about USF? Their nurses have an excellent reputation out here (in San Francisco).

Oh yea, still no letter, no call. I'm debating whether or not to call tomorrow. Every other school I have applied to has messed up my application, so I'm tempted to call but at the same time I really don't want to hear, by a living, breathing person that I wasn't good enough. Oh well that will be tomorrow's battle. Good luck to all.

Would have liked to apply to UCSF, since they are neck and neck with Seattle for the #1 ranked school, however I completely missed their deadline of September 1.

Still holding on to hope...I didn't hear from MSMC yet, either.

For real about the RD rejections already being sent out? I was told we weren't going to find out til Feb! At least I haven't been rejected yet.

12:45 PT (read: 3 freakin' 45 ET) and I got my call!!! I was on the bus! I keep checking my my received calls list for that Maryland area code so I'm sure it wasn't a dream. See you all in June if not in March. Woo hoo!

(I was reading last year's board and I saw that some people got their rejection letters really early, like the 16th. Still, take what I say with a grain of salt, I really have no idea.)

If you guys were given an option to pick one from JHU (or) DUKE, (Both ABSN)which one would be your first choice?and Why??

I know that both of these are great universities, and both of them have top notch teaching staff.

Apart from 10K difference in tution, what else would you consider in picking one of these two options.

I'm going to Hopkins, but if I didn't have ties to the DC/VA/MD area, I'd pick Duke. I'm a sucker for good weather. My bff went to Duke undergrad while I was in Boston and she was always in shorts and flip flops!

I couldn't apply to Duke because they have the "not til you're finished with prereqs" application policy, but it was initially on my list. Congrats on getting into both, good luck making a decision.

Just received an email from JHU. No news until February!

"Your application is complete and the Admissions Committee will review your application. Regular decision Accelerated notifications will begin going out by February and regular decision Traditional notifications will begin going out by March. If you have any questions please email me and let me know. Have a great day! "

Congratulations to everyone who has been accepted and good luck to everyone waiting to hear! :yeah:

So, has anyone on here been accepted for the traditional track? I choose that directions because August is a much better time for me to relocate my family and because I want to use the breaks to really enjoy what Hopkins has to offer. . .but I seem to be the only one on here!

I forgot all about waiting to hear from JHU. All your posts made my stomach do flip-flops! I applied RD ABSN, we should heard in January (as I have not heard from them since they notified that they got everything for my application). I did ask the guide during the tour about applying to both accelerated and traditional program, but she said we can only pick one. And, if you weren't cut out for accelerated, you may be offered the traditional slot. Good luck to those waiting to hear back and congrats to those that are in :)

Thanks!

Good luck to you, too. Have a relaxing holiday, and try not to worry too much about the impending decision. You can see how much good worrying did for any of us! :-)

My email stated that ABSN wouldn't hear until February and Traditonal BSN wouldn't hear until March! I wonder if I will have any nails left at all by then...

at least you got an e-mail regarding it, i haven't heard from JHU yet.

keep your nails on!!!
