John Tyler Community College RN Fall 2018

Published

Hi! Creating this thread for all those who plan on applying for the JTCC Fall 2018 RN session. (Hybrid or traditional)

Anybody who has previously applied to the JTCC program please feel free to join the discussion and tell us, applicants, how the application process went as well as how the nursing program went or is going!!

Best of luck to everyone who applies!!

I was actually thinking the same thing! I read a few of the old threads and was hoping this semester there are less applicants. I just want to get in and get started. I'm Pre-BSN!

I didn't do as well as I anticipated to on the test. But hopefully, it'll be good enough.

Hi guys! I applied to the Fall 18 program and I have just started to suffer from the suspense!! What classes are you guys taking now??

Hi guys! I applied to the Fall 18 program and I have just started to suffer from the suspense!! What classes are you guys taking now??

Finishing up my A.S General Studies - Pre BSN this semster so taking both A&P II and Micro

Ironically I dont think I'm applying for any BSN programs lol

I'm currently in A&PII, English 112, Sociology and Health and Nutrition. Over the summer I know I'm taking Micro and an English class, but I'm not sure what kind. Maybe Med Term or Psychology...we'll see.

Hey everyone! I just found this site. I've applied for the fall program and anxiously awaiting news but in the mean time I'm finishing up some pre-recs and currently talking A&P1, stats, dev.psyc and Sociology. I'm planning Micro and A&P 2 over the summer. Its busy but I enjoy it!

Has anyone seen the changes made for the pre-BSN programme? I just went up there today to ask about something related to it and it's changed a bit even from the 30 min it took me to get home. I'm going to speak to my nursing advisor about it. Does it effect us going forward? Which one do we use? I'm just like...do I need an extra freaking math class or not! I hate math!

Seriously...I'll do any other class but that.....

I've applied as well back in Feb. TEAS test was 86.7% overall and 96% percentile. All A's on pre reqs with one B in english that I took back in highschool. Waiting for the acceptance letter. Hopefully they let us know by the end of April or early May. Will post acceptance outcome later for people applying for future programs.

Got an acceptance email from SRMC's (Southside Regional Medical Center) program today. So hopefully John Tyler will be sending them out soon. Response deadline to the SRMC program is due by the 27th so I'm hoping we atleast hear back before then.

I think I would prefer JTCC's program, but either way I'm stoked that I'm going somewhere in the fall lol.

Congratulations.

I talked to my advisor and she said they send out the notices around May 1. So now we're all doing the two week wait like we're waiting to take a pregnancy test.

The FAQ on the jtcc nursing website says that the decisions are sent out 8-9 weeks after the application deadline. Doesnt that put us at around mid May?? The wait is too long :(

Maybe they start at the beginning of May and run that long. It is a long time to wait. I've signed up for summer classes and fall just in case I don't get in so I don't have to try and scramble later, but it's killing me to wait so long.
