Job Shadowing offer after interview

I had an interview with human resources a while ago and a peer panel interview yesterday. I was called 45 min later to schedule job shadowing for a couple of hours. Does anyone have any advice regarding job shadowing, and is this a pretty good sign that I have a great chance of getting the job?

I think shadowing is a great opportunity for you as well to find out if you really want the job and get an idea of what it would be like working at this place. There are so many different specialties, units, etc that if I were to change jobs I would want to shadow first and decide if I really would like the new area.

Remember if you are looking for a new job you can always do agency and get a chance to check out other places and see firsthand if the grass is greener elsewhere. Bonus, you can make friends and even get paid better than a regular gig!

Nursein2011, I was told by one facility around when they would make their decision which was about a week (maybe a week and a half) after I shadowed. For the place where I currently work, I interviewed, shadowed the following day, and came in for a third interview the following week. After the third interview, I was offered the position in two days.

I hope that you love it and everything works out great!

I too shadowed before having a panel interview for a PCT position. I was nervous but I went in and learned as much about the day to day activities of the floor. I felt like I worked there! After the panel interview, I was offered the job hours later.

Yea, shadowing is definitely just a way for the nurse manager to know that you mesh well with the team there.

I shadowed on Monday and got the official job offer today!

congratulations! thats awesome!!

Hi- If any of you view this blog now, what did you guys do while shadowing? I know ask questions, but we can't do direct patient care, so what else did you guys do? I have shadowing after interview coming up....and I am a new grad and have no idea about how it is going to be. I want to do best from my end.

Thanks guys!
