I worked at an assistive living no one there had their license but i had mine, I was t feeling well for a shift so i went in late, one of the resident was giving me a hard time the nurse told me a while before that they had a pill to relax them so i ask the med passer maybe that's what they need she tells me no they don't their past that a pill wouldn't help so just get them dressed, meaning i had to force them, so i was fed up and walked out but there was another girl with me in memory care so she even said just walk out, I got tired of having to force people to get up, so the manager called me and said that i can have job abandonment under my record now what does this do to me

That is some run-on sentence! It is REALLY hard to extract the story from this, but you clearly DID abandon both your job and the patients- so yes, you will be in trouble with whatever agency you are licensed through. You can lose whatever license it was.

Yes, what you did is in fact the definition of abandonment. Based on some of your word choices describing the residents/patients, it sounds like healthcare may not be a good fit for you. If you do in fact have a license, and your former employer reported you, you may receive sanctions/citations. Not sure what they will be, and they may take some time to post. But, in essence, you left work because you didn't feel like working and your patients were annoying you. Doesn't sound very good.

I fully expected going into this that it would be another one of those posts where some jerk of a manager threatened reporting job abandonment that clearly wasn't. Sadly this isn't the case. What you did OP is job abandonment. Once you clocked in you accepted the assignment for the duration of your shift. You say you were the only licensed person, so if a licensed person is required to be on the premises what you did by leaving with no coverage in place is abandonment and can be reported. Just curious here, what type of license are you talking about? Are you a licensed nurse?
Frankly by your description of going in late, getting upset when med pass staff refused to medicate somebody because that patient annoyed you and then walking off the job is something you are OK with doing I doubt if your employer was too upset to see you go.

You can only hope that the employer does not bother to report you to the certifying authority. At the very least, you will find it very difficult, if not impossible, to obtain another job in healthcare. Employers outside of healthcare are not likely to consider employing you either. No employer wants someone around who is likely to walk off the job at any moment. Look for work with your eyes open to this fact.

You left a facility with no licensed nurse there? Yep that abandonment by definition. Here it is my understanding that if the BON finds out bad things are likely to occur to you ability to practice but then again you did walk out on the patients in your care
