I posted a while ago in the Illinois section. No reply so I thought I'd see if it was just because its just not an active area or if there is no one on here from JJC. So anyway, anyone put in their application during the Aug 1st-15th open application? I applied for the night program and am currently waiting for an email saying they have accepted my application and when the TEAS test dates are.
I'd love to meet some other JJC students. If we get into the program we can set up study groups. By the way I've been through the first semester (long story, don't want to repeat what I've already posted here). I can share my experience.
If no one applies I'll assume the new applicants haven't found this great site yet:D
Its a lottery system. Everyone picks a number. Lowest number gets the first choice for which section you want. Its goes from there until everyone has their class assignment.
We should be getting a packet in the next few weeks with the classes and other requirement (physical, drug test, etc)
That how it was back in fall of 08 anyways. I'm sure some things have changed since I was last there.
meee toooo!! I was accepted into the day program! I am beside myself excited--I can't believe it! I am really bummed because 2 of my friends did not get in...one scored a 63 w a 3.8 gpa...the other scored a 75 with a 3.2 gpa. so, all over the place! I heard the average score was 79 this term!!!
--> here we come!!!!
contrats to all!!!!
B&G, I only got a 74% overall on the test. But I did get 95% on the reading portion. Reading is 25% of the points you get while overall score is only like 20%. I think that is why it is so hard to compare person to person, too many factors.
I have no idea about the scrubs. It would not make sense to wear street clothes with a lab jacket. Can't see the hospitals or nursing homes allowing that. Maybe they meant you have to buy the scrub jacket from Life Uniform but you can get the scrubs from anywhere?? Guess we will see.
Anyone tried to see if the bookstore lists the books we need? I think I'm going to look now. I also need to get a recorder for class. I guess I should check to make sure they still allow them.
Hi, Tleelove,
Would you mind giving me a rough idea of how the first semester schedule will look like? How many days per week...how many hours per week, etc.? I'm trying to prepare my current employer for me going part time. Also, I'm not a CNA, so I believe I will have to take NURS 140, but what is NURS 150? Is that the clinical or does it include classroom time? Dumb questions, but I honestly have no idea!! Thanks for your help!
