JJC (Joliet Junior College) Fall 2015

U.S.A. Illinois

Hey I don't know if a thread has already been started for this program but I am interested in applying for the February 15th deadline for the Fall 2015 start date at JJC. I haven't signed up for my TEAS yet because I don't want to pick a date that is too early or too late since I also need to begin studying but I was thinking about signing up for the Feb 2nd 4th or 5th date. If anyone else is applying to the program or is currently in the program please feel free to reply and share anything that you can. Thanks =)

Did you plan on calling today to see how many applicants applied? Or tomorrow, if school is closed today for President's day?

I didn't call them yet. Were you able to find out?

I saw that they were closed yesterday, and day classes were canceled for today for some in-house faculty day. So calling wouldn't do any good today. Monac from the other thread I believe plans on calling tomorrow. Whether she calls or I call, I will def. let you know whatever I am told! Gosh, I'm so dang nervous. Have you heard of any one else's scores, gpa, etc?

which other thread? And nope I haven't so i have no idea what the avg is =/

The JJc Fall 2015 thread I had originally created. The "average" showing on my TEAS test for the program shoes 64.9%. I just don't know if that's accurate or not, I would believe it's gotta be higher than that....

yeah I saw that too and thought it was kind of weird. Even the science avg was pretty low but who knows it may be accurate. It did give some bit of hope though lol and ok thanks I'll check that out

It def. gives me some hope, too! I just don't want to rely on something that may or may not be accurate. UGH I am going to be a huge anxious mess until we get those darn emails! I'm also worried about receiving the email that our application was received. I am so scared that there will be some technical issue where mine wasn't received for some reason. Just in case, I had printed the page where it thanked me for applying or whatever ;)

I've started looking at the scholarship opportunities, and most of them for Nursing ask if you are enrolled in the program. The deadline is April 1st for scholarships, so I hope we know before that so we can apply for them!

I'm not sure if you follow the other thread, or not. So, here is what I found out when I just called the Nursing department:

There were 232 applicants this time, which is up about 30% from past semesters. They do not have average TEAS score yet. They are in the process of determining which students, of the 232 that applied, are actually qualified applicants. Another student said they will be sending out an email around the first week of March telling us whether or not we are qualified applicants. Then, we will await the acceptance or denial email. UGH! I called Kathy in admissions, per another student's recommendation, just to confirm that they had indeed received my application. She confirmed they had my application, and also checked to make sure that my high school transcripts were on file. If yours are not on file, you will need to have them sent in eventually, so it's just one more thing to check off your list. Good luck!! :)

thanks so much for this information! but im not going to lie it made me even that more nervous lol I'm definitely going to call tomorrow and make sure they received everything from me. thanks again

I'm sorry! My intention was not to make you nervous! I was just sharing what information I was able to find out! I cannot believe how long they make us wait! There's a lot of exclamation points in this response! Wow! LOL

Has anyone gotten their email yet stating when we should go in and submit our essay?
