Jefferson State Community College Summer/Fall 2016 Hopefuls!

Published

Hey guys! I just thought I'd start a thread for this year's JSCC Nursing School hopefuls!

Summer/Fall? Have you submitted yet? Full time/part time?

I turned in my application on the first day of class! Pretty sure I have everything I need finished. The advisor told me I could apply for summer (full time) if I wanted so I did! I applied with 197.7 points and a 3.5 GPA. If I don't get in (kind of iffy on if they will accept the science prereq I have) I'm just going to retake the TEAS test and apply for fall.

Does anyone know for sure when they will let us know if we got in or not?

They didn't find out last year until around June 24th. So I think we have at least a month of waiting left. I am already going crazy! Is there anything that y'all are doing to pass the time? I am not taking classes, so I went ahead and bought a dosage calculation book and a test taking strategies book. I'm also reviewing my anatomy.

hi all, I applied for fall full time with 192.5 points with Jefferson campus being my first choice. time has actually been flying, it's already almost been 2 weeks since the deadline! hopefully something will be said soon. has anyone else already taken all of the prerequisites and only have the actual nursing classes to take? I'm wondering how they are going to do the schedule if you have everything..

Hey guys! I'm applying to the Pell City campus for the Fall and my score is a 213.5. Does anyone know any material that I can go ahead and be looking over before the semester starts? I would really like to get a head start.

I ordered a dosage calculation's book and a testing strategies book. They were both pretty cheap on Amazon. The dosage calculations book has been really helpful to brush up on my math.

I applied for Shelby, too. Fingers crossed!

Full time as 1st choice, part-time as second.

Hi there! What is the name of the dosage book? Studying would be great to prepare for pharm.

The book is called Dosage Calculations, A Multi-Method Approach. The authors are Anthony Giangrasso and Dolores Shrimpton

I've got one class this summer, and I'm working at a pool. I also plan to review my anatomy. What are you using to review it?

Thank you Shad! :)

I am just using my anatomy book and going over key concepts, and I also am watching crash course on youtube if I am feeling lazy. They have a lot of great videos on A&P.
