Hey guys! I just thought I'd start a thread for this year's JSCC Nursing School hopefuls!
Summer/Fall? Have you submitted yet? Full time/part time?
I turned in my application on the first day of class! Pretty sure I have everything I need finished. The advisor told me I could apply for summer (full time) if I wanted so I did! I applied with 197.7 points and a 3.5 GPA. If I don't get in (kind of iffy on if they will accept the science prereq I have) I'm just going to retake the TEAS test and apply for fall.

Hi @Laureeen! I'm Kelli, I also submitted my app for the summer full-time program the first week of class this semester too! I applied for the Jefferson campus with 182pts. After talking with Mrs.Johnson(RN advisor) I feel pretty good about it and I'm praying it gets me in. What campus did you apply to?
I applied to the Shelby Hoover Campus 😀

I will be applying for the N/W program in the Fall. Does anyone know the differences between the Shelby and Jefferson campus? I want to make sure I end up at the one that will better prepare me for the field and will have helpful instructors.

Hi there!! I've applied for the day program at the jefferson campus for the fall. As of right now I have 195.5 points but I should have 225.5 once final grades post. I'm super excited and nervous and wish I didn't have to wait so long.
I got in on 178 for the summer. Apparently that's still a really good score though so I'm sure you will get in. I was missing one of the points sections (I didn't think I was so it scared me a little!) so it looked like this:
0/30
30/30
11/11 (math)
and 107 from the TEAS-V (I didn't apply myself for the studying I should have done haha.)
Total: 178
Good luck! I just ordered my stethoscope and bought my shoes so it is all getting so real and exciting now!!

I have applied for fall with 193 points. Pell City is my preferred campus. The associate dean told me that 180 points and above is good, and over 190 is excellent. I am so nervous to find out!

How do they calculate the scores?? I applied for the fall program.
Sciences: A=30, B=20, C=10
Math: A=11, B=5, C=0
Teas score: Every percentage you multiply by 1.5 and that's your score. Example: 80%=120 points.
I only have 115 points if I calculated it correctly. I'm nervous now. Don't know if it's enough. Anyone know of anyone getting in with these points?? Btw thanks A.P.

115 would not get you in but I'm not sure you calculated it right. You add up all 3 if your sciences and you math and your Teas score. Also if you did better in math than one of you sciences you can count it as a science. Example: if you made an A in math and C in science you would get 11 in math and replace the low science grade with the A and this time it would be 30 points because it is acting as a science.
If you tell me what you made I can tell you your points. Either on here or pm.
