Jeff State Summer 2011

Hey! I thought I would start a thread for all the people that are applying for summer admittance into jeff state so we could get to know our possible future classmates. They're accepting 50 on each campus and with the compass completely gone,and the teas v being solely relied on plus course points of course, I think this will make for a INTERESTING admission process to say the least! Any input and comments are welcomed;-)

I am a jeff state student. I am so relieved that you guys r feeling scared as well! Didn't you mention on here you were already buying your books? What books do we need? Thank you! And congrats to you as well!!

Child... Baby it ain't no joke!!! I bought all the books- pharmacology, health assessment, Fundamentals, the medical dictionary, and I still haven't got my medial terminology book though. I also bought fundamentals made incredibly easy and pharmacology made incredibly easy. I'm actually retaking 202 now a's a mini term but I'm consideringdroppinh it vevause I've talked to some people and they say it's unneccessary... What do u think??

I would think you have already gotten in nursing school so what's the point? But I could be misinforming you. Can you get your money back? I am so darn scared about nursing school!!!! I'm scared I'm not going to be smart enough.

Idk I'm gonna see tomorrow. And yeah! Me to... That's why I bought the "..incredibly easy" series. Ive heard that it breaks down alot of he stuff. I'm mostly scared about pharmacology though. Ive heard horror stories about that 90%test!

Hey maryk8rn!! I am starting this summer at the Shelby campus as well!! Woohoo!! My first classmate!! Hahaha I am soo ready for orientation!!

futurernjap-yes i am so excited and so nervous, what book series are you talking about that you bought that breaks everything down and make it understandable, imma def need to get that! So we arent going to have to pay for anything tomorrow? I prob want sleep tonight....im super nervous!

It's the incredibly easy series. They make it for fundamentals, pharmacology, dosage and calculations( I got that one instead of the $75.00 caculate with confidence that jeff state "recommends" you get) and other nursing stuff.... And girl me either!! I went up to uab school of nursing today to talk about some classes that I could take towards my bsn and the lady asked what nursing school I was attending and I told her jeff state and she was REALLY impressed. That seems to be the general concensus when I tell people I got in jeff state!!!

Well good for us then....yeah i plan on getting a job at uab when i get out of nursing school at jeff state and going back to get my bs...but now they have have a rn-bs-ms program that i am going to look into...did you talk to them about that? I gotta be able to find you tomorrow cause i dont know a sole!

Lol yeah I did. I mostly was just concentrating on the bsn thing though. I'm considering doing jsu step program. Ive heard that some hospitals are trying to get fancy now and not hire adn graduates. Do u know if this is true or not?? I would hate to get out of schhol and not be able to get a job! Ive heard that with me being a male that I really don't have anything to worry about but you can never be to sure!!

I sure hope not, surely not there are so many schools that offer adn degrees for nurses I think it would be stupid not to hire them! But u being tamales u shouldn't have anything to worry about! I know someone that just graduated from nursing school at Jeff state and she got hired on at uab in the nicu! I would think if they are trying to stop hiring adn degree nurses then they would stop hiring them in the icu units before anywhere else? All I know is if I don't get a job when I get out of school because I have a adn I'm gonna be one pi**ed off nurse!
