Jeff State Spring 2015 Hopefuls

Hello all! I am transferring from UAB to Jeff State after two unsuccessful attempts at getting into the nursing program over there! I just spoke to the adviser and will be applying with 224.5 points. I had 2 A's and a B in my pre-reqs, and studied for a month and got an 88.7 on the Teas-V. She said that my application was very competitive, and I find it ironic/surprising that I can be competitive at one program and "not on the radar" so to speak at another! Ha! I guess it goes to show that you should never give up on your dreams -- if one avenue won't work just try a new one!

Anyways, I know it's super early, but I couldn't resist starting this post!! I hope to make some new friends so we can help each other study and be the best we can be! Good luck to all!

When I applied the advisor told me it would be the end of October through the first week of November when we get our acceptance letters. I really hope that we get them before then but I doubt we will. She told me that 180 and higher is what they are looking for as far as points and also a good gpa. =)

Gpa don't matter as long as its a 2.5. They said only time it matters is when u and the other student have the same points and they take the highest gpa of the two. It even said it on the nursing application, I believe its on the last page the really small print

So does anyone know how long it usually takes for us to find out we are in?

The advisor told me we should be expecting to hear at the end of October through the first week of November. My friend who was accepted last semester for fall did not find out for a full 4 weeks. I guess it depends on how many people apply and staffing to sort through applications. I havent heard that many people applying for sping though, since they only admit to Jefferson and Shelby, so it may not take to long. Most people I know say Clanton is much better and Shelby is the worst campus to go to. I hope it isnt too bad since that was my choice. =/

I applied to shelby also.. I have clients that have gone through Shelby and they told me it wasn't as bad as everyone let's on. So we will see

Do they send rejection letters first or after they know everyone accepted their spot?

I applied at Jeff State as well but Wallace has a deadline that I have to meet by the end of the month to accept. So I'm waiting to hear back from them.
