Got an offer in sub-acute, how to politely decline the offer?
I knew some people who simply said they wanted to go to their other interviews before they made a decision! Good luck!

Help paying for school
Yes, when I went to the financial aid office begging for money lol she told me I should have done the AMNP program because I could have gotten federal aid. Apparently there is a certain amount you can borrow as an undergrad, and can borrow more as a master's student. Anyway, you are not too far from my school, you should check it out! UAB - School of Nursing - AMNP The first year you get your RN, and the next two years you become a nurse practitioner! Even if you had to put off school and save while applying for a program like this, hey, it's accelerated so you'd still get done fast! Anyways, I must agree some of the previous posters were rather rude. OP asked a simple question and then got lectured... It was not helpful at all. There's no shame in wanting to better yourself OP. College is ridiculously expensive, but you will earn more so it's an investment. Be patient and don't give up. Let haters hate!

Help paying for school
Dear OP, I'm so sorry you have found yourself in this situation and I'm sorry that some people have been a little harsh on you! I think I may have a viable solution! I earned a BA in music before deciding that nursing was for me, so I know all about running out of financial aid! I was lucky that I got a scholarship and had saved my income tax returns so I am making it! Poor but making it, haha! Anyway, have you considered applying for an accelerated master's program for second degree students? Since you would be a graduate, it is my understanding that you would then have an increased borrowing limit from the federal government! Of course it would take more time to apply and wait, but it might be worth it! Good luck to you!

Didn't make it.
I just wanted to say that I applied to the same school 3 times before I was accepted and each time I got the rejection I cried and was really mopey and depressed for weeks! It really does suck! Please just oust keep in mind that a rejection doesn't mean that you aren't good enough there are just too many people applying. I I suggest going to the school and ask how to improve your chances of acceptance and apply to more than one school! And take heart- it seemed like it takes forever to get in but once you're in, it goes by so fast! Hugs! Be tough, be patient, be awesome like you have been and you will get in!

I know this is random, but should I get the raspberry pink, coral pink, breast cancer awareness pink, or plum? I am the most indecisive person ever, LOL.

I got accepted, too, PC0229! Congrats!

Jeff State Spring 2015 Hopefuls
Will they let you get a refund on the uniforms at Wallace? You have been waiting a long time so I know you don't want to settle for a school. However, if you are gonna bridge to UAB afterwards it might not make a difference what community college you go to. My advisor said it was a lot less competitive to do the bridge program, BTW! Good luck, let me know what you decide!!!

I will be doing the bridge, too, if I am only accepted at Jeff State. I was surprised at how simple, and fair, the Jeff State application was compared to UAB's, but UAB is my school of choice. I have heard great things about both schools, though. Good luck to you, too!

UAB BSN Spring 2015 Hopefuls
Hey, there! I just wanted to start this thread in case there are others out there impatiently waiting for an acceptance like me. I would be glad to hear from you, and it wouldn't hurt for us to become acquainted, either. This will be my 3rd time to apply to UAB, so I hope that the 3rd time is the charm! I have also applied to Jeff State as a backup. Good luck everyone! I would like to post my stats as it may be helpful to others: Overall GPA: 3.34 Foundation GPA: 3.34 60 hours of volunteer work I am a second degree student. I hope that we can use this thread to help each other and answer each other's questions! :)

Very concerned
My high school grades had nothing to do with my application, either! But do try to score all a's on your nursing foundations courses so you won't have to worry anymore! You will be fine, I promise. Look online for your school's listing of required courses, that should help you understand what grades you have to have!
