I haven't seen one on here yet...so I wanted to start a thread for those applying for Spring 2011 at Jeff State. Everything seems so much more stressful now that you don't really know where you stand. Before they changed the point system, you generally knew where you stood. Now that they have add the TEAS V, it seems like you have no clue! So anyone applying...please respond! Thanks and good luck!

I started the part-time program this fall and just wanted to say Good luck to all applying for the spring semester!
Thanks for the reply and good luck! How do you like it so far?? Any tips?? Thanks.
So far I have to say that I love the program, we have a pretty huge class. Although the program itself is part-time the course load is very much full time. It is very important to read, read, read your book I can't stress that enough, you have so much material. Lots and lots of study time. It is hard, stressful and challenging but it can be done as long as you make it your priority and manage your time wisely. Me personally I study everyday except for Sunday to give my mind a break and spend time with my family.
Yes it will definitely be my first priority. Good luck with everything!
Thanks and good luck to you!

I was looking on here for the same reason. I have no idea what to expect for this semester. I wonder what people are making on the TEAS-V and how that will affect the new points system. Now it's out of 350 but I have no idea how many points I need to get in. If you have any idea, please let me know so I can calm my mind. I hope it's not too late in November before we find out whether we are accepted or rejected. I am desperately waiting. I need this badly.
Yay someone that knows how I feel! I asked the advisor how long it would be till we would find out after the deadline. She said it usually takes 3-4 weeks. Every other semester I think it may have even took longer...and to think this time everything is different and more points to be looked at. So I have no clue how long it is going to take. I'm not sure so far about the TEAS-V. I took mine a few weeks ago and the proctor said it was a pretty good score. He said that so far they had only had 3 scores in the 80's. Have you taken it yet? It really stinks not knowing where the cutoff point is or where you stand. Do you know what your total points are yet?
I turned in my application on Tuesday but I honestly don't know for sure how many points I have. It depends on whether they use my high school or college grades. I'll have between 312 and 332. I was a little confused about that. It says the best grade in each category, and I have better grades in high school. But it also says the highest level chemistry will be used, so in that case it would be my college grade. Who knows. Do you know how many you have?
I think I'll have 314.5...I'm so nervous about it. Good luck and hopefully it won't be forever until we find something out.
Hopefully not. I am going ahead and registering for classes at UAB though, just in case I don't get into the program at Jeff State. Either way, I am determined to be in school next semester. I'm either going to do RN at Jeff State and then RN to BSN at UAB, or just go ahead and get my BSN at UAB. It's the same amount of time for me to do it either way.

Hey everyone... winter '11 hopeful here. I'm taking the teas early next week and just wanted to see what the average scores have been for those that have taken it. I think when you get your testing info. they provide you an average for all that have taken it on that campus. Any info will be much appreciated!
Thanks.
