I haven't seen one on here yet...so I wanted to start a thread for those applying for Spring 2011 at Jeff State. Everything seems so much more stressful now that you don't really know where you stand. Before they changed the point system, you generally knew where you stood. Now that they have add the TEAS V, it seems like you have no clue! So anyone applying...please respond! Thanks and good luck!
I'll be glad to post when I get a letter! I hope and pray it will be good news. When I asked her how many apps had been turned in so far, she showed me two stacks of folders (which looked to be around 150 folders) and said that so far this is all she had. She also said she did not have as many applications as usual. Of course, this did not include the applications turned in at the Jefferson Campus. This was around 10:15 am.
I made an 86% which was the equivlent to 129/150. I asked the advisor if she thought that was a good score and she said she thought it would be competitive b/c most of the TEAS scores she has seen so far have been in the 60's. However, she also said she truly has no idea what total scores (Teas + compass + math/science grades) will be considered competive since this is the first time for them to include the TEAS as an admission requirement. I hope this makes sense :)
hey silver - I tried messaging you but apparently I need to post 15 times before I can do that... sorta odd, isn't it?
either way, i'm glad you're enjoying your 1st semester in nursing! i was going to see if you wouldn't mind telling me how your mon-fri sched looks with each of your classes/labs/clinicals. any info would be appreciated as i'm hoping to work part-time when I start the program.
thanks.

Im in the part-time program and the first semester we don't have clinicals we will start clinicals in January and I am anticipating what our schedule is gonna be like. But this semester we have class on Monday and Wednesday from 5:30-8:30. That's both lecture and lab time. Whatever day we aren't going to have lecture for either our pharm or health assessment we go to the lab. Hope that helps.
Oh no !!! I took the TEAs test this past Friday and got 66% = 99 points. I wish I had time to study and retake. I am so afraid I don't have the points! I believe my total points is 280. Does everyone have over 300 points? Does anyone know how many are admitted? This is going to be a very long wait!!
I also did not do well on the teas. I had 198 pts going into it. Really hate the fact that I worked so hard to get A's and the teas will keep me out. Should have applied last semester with 188 pts because the cutoff was 184, but I was told it would probally be around 190 so I never even applied waited till I finished micro..ugh:crying2:

I think they told me the "program average" was a 63 or 64?? I guess that is for the school. It doesn't make since though since no one has taken it yet in previous semesters. I guess it is just referring to the people so far. I know they said the national average was a 63 or 64 as well. Hope it goes well for you!
