I haven't seen one on here yet...so I wanted to start a thread for those applying for Spring 2011 at Jeff State. Everything seems so much more stressful now that you don't really know where you stand. Before they changed the point system, you generally knew where you stood. Now that they have add the TEAS V, it seems like you have no clue! So anyone applying...please respond! Thanks and good luck!
Im in the part-time program and the first semester we don't have clinicals we will start clinicals in January and I am anticipating what our schedule is gonna be like. But this semester we have class on Monday and Wednesday from 5:30-8:30. That's both lecture and lab time. Whatever day we aren't going to have lecture for either our pharm or health assessment we go to the lab. Hope that helps.
hey silver - I tried messaging you but apparently I need to post 15 times before I can do that... sorta odd, isn't it?either way, i'm glad you're enjoying your 1st semester in nursing! i was going to see if you wouldn't mind telling me how your mon-fri sched looks with each of your classes/labs/clinicals. any info would be appreciated as i'm hoping to work part-time when I start the program.
thanks.
I think working part time while in the part time program isn't bad. I'm not sure how it would work in the full time program to be honest. I know they have more to do in a semester. I was told that our class will be on Monday from 5:30 to 9:00 PM next semester and we will have lab one day a week. We will be divided up and go to labs on different days. I guess to keep the group to a manageable size. Labs will be Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday and our specific day will be assigned once the semester begins. I don't think we will go to lab every week which is good. I think the instructor said clinicals start in March. It doesn't seem like much...but once you begin to study it is a lot! Good luck to you on your application. The waiting is terrible. Keep me posted!
Hi everybody...I got my call today as well...and congrats to the others!!!! They said orientation is going to be Nov 16...which is very soon. Does anyone know what all we do at orientation?..
Thanks!

Wow, 198... excellent! I'm sure that, alone, will keep your application very competitive.
Does anyone plan to work full are part-time while in this program? I'm considering doing a part-time CNA job to get some experience, but wonder if it will impede too much on my study time.
