Jeff State Fall 2013 hopefuls

Published

Hi Everyone,

I just applied to The RN program at Jeff State and I wanted to get a thread going for other Fall 2013 hopefuls. If you're like me, the next couple months of waiting is going to be torture and I just thought it would be helpful to have somewhere to go to help pass the time with others in our situation :) I'm pretty optimistic and think I have a good chance, but you just never know! What kind of scores did everyone apply with? I wonder what the cutoff will be? I was told it could be late July before we hear anything...anyone hear something different? Also, who is applying for part-time and who is applying for full-time?

Look forward to meeting you all and GOOD LUCK to EVERYONE!

It was my first time to take it, and I thought it sounded pretty good.... But 94%? Maybe I didn't do as good as I thought.

It's June people! That means we could potentially hear sometime this month!!! (I hope I hope)

I certainly hope we do.

Has anyone seen their major change from pre-RN to RN? I haven't, and I'm starting to get worried

From my understanding, that does not mean anything. Besides, mine has been like that since before I applied the first time and was denied.

It won't happen for a while. They are still trying to determine who will be accepted. Give it time. As a current nursing student, don't wish away your summer. It will be your last free one for a while. Enjoy it while you can.

I just hope we will hear something before the end of the month my whole life is on hold right now. I would like to know even if I don't get in so I will know what to do next. The waiting is miserable! If it Strictly point based i don't see why it takes so long.

Mine says nursing but I was told it doesn't mean anything.

They have to check GPA's and transcripts. If your sciences are more than 5 years old, they won't count. They don't want to admit someone who doesn't have everything they need.

If I'm not mistaken, wasn't it mentioned here that they would be short staffed?

Still, I have no more new pre-req classes I can take. I could retake one but that just seems like a waste of money. So I'm literally on hold in life until I hear something. Well, I am working part time but that doesn't count. :p

Wait you were told science classes are only good for 5 years for points? I was told those sciences wouldn't transfer, but they could be up to 10 years old for points. This really bothers me bc the chemistry class I'm using for points is 8 years old, and I was told for the application that's fine.

All of my classes I took within the last 2 years. however, I thought and was told by advisor the classes were good for 10 years, because I was going to use my high school biology because I wasn't planning to take micro. I did end up going ahead and taking micro. It worries me that the same advisors reviewing our apps are the ones giving us wrong info all the time. It is only my future on the line here! They really need to get people in there that know what they are doing! It is so frustrating and ridiculous!
