Jeff State Fall 2013 hopefuls

U.S.A. Alabama

Hi Everyone,

I just applied to The RN program at Jeff State and I wanted to get a thread going for other Fall 2013 hopefuls. If you're like me, the next couple months of waiting is going to be torture and I just thought it would be helpful to have somewhere to go to help pass the time with others in our situation :) I'm pretty optimistic and think I have a good chance, but you just never know! What kind of scores did everyone apply with? I wonder what the cutoff will be? I was told it could be late July before we hear anything...anyone hear something different? Also, who is applying for part-time and who is applying for full-time?

Look forward to meeting you all and GOOD LUCK to EVERYONE!

I didn't know that! It's cool except that means everything is squeezed into 2 nights. Looking at that calendar we literally have a test every week. I don't see us having time to learn anything in class. Everything will be self study so I don't understand why we can't just do it online at home anyway. I have been reading the books to help me get ahead. As soon as we have access again I am gonna print out notes and watch the videos.

I am about to purchase the bundle of textbooks for first semester. Does anyone know if the codes that are included are a MUST have? I would rather save $300 and order textbooks elsewhere but I was told you cannot purchase the codes separately.

@leb1290 They stated in orientation you don't need codes.

Did you guys buy the medical terminology book?

If you're in Nights/Weekends buy the book. You will need it.

okay, good! I purchased it. I've purchased every book except the health and physical assessment pocket book. Since I purchased the main book, will I really need the pocket book?

I bought it and never used it so you can go without that one.

The courses on blackboard are officially open now

Can't believe it's about to start....just wow

wait, so can someone give me a list of the books we need for nights/weekends...cause I got an email about it, but i don't remember it saying anything about a medical terminology book...just health assessment and pharmacology.

Nevermind, got it all straightened out in class on Tues. So....what does everyone think so far? I mean, I know it's only the beginning, but how does everyone feel about their classes?
