i thought...we are inching closer and closer to our start dates, it might be good to introduce ourselves and get aquainted as we will be leaning on each other (and those who are ahead of us) for the next couple of years!!!
i'm curious to see how everyone is doing and what you are doing right now to prepare for your start!!!
first off, congratulations to everone!!!! i'm sure you are just as excited as i am to be starting in the spring! let's get to know each other a little better!!! figured we could use this as an intro and for any questions we might have for each other!!! can't wait to meet everyone!!!

school history: finished pre-req's in spring '07, didn't get in for fall of '07, but starting in spring '08!
personal info: i am married with a 2 year old daughter and a dog and i work full-time. i will be attending night classes at my cc.
anything else you want to share: i am enjoying my free time right now and through the holidays because i know once my classes begin, i will not be available at all for anything!!! i am excited to start, but enjoying the days leading up to it!
how are you preparing?: i go next week for my immunizations and i have to get a physical soon. cpr is done and i think other than that, nothing else until orientation! doing my research for the palm pilot software to help me through! also, i am requesting a lot of stuff from the in-laws to do with my classes for christmas - rolling back-pack, shoes, stehescope/bp cuff...and just plain ol' cash!
school history: began at csuf as a bio major,transfered to csusb in 05 and thats about the time i started my prereqs. bio was too competitive(can you believe that) applied in 06 no good applied in 07 and finally got accepted in ns

am single w no kids. have to cut back on a lot of hours at work,i'm a medical assistant, so i've got to figure out how i'm going to pay for school. loans!
how are you preparing?: i've read the first few weeks of the material, not intensely but enough to get an understanding. ive rearranged my room and organized it so that i would have an enjoyable study area. i've paid off some bills and caught up on a lot of sleep i'm going to miss out on in the next 2.5 years.

school history: i started nursing prerequisites in fall 2005, applied in csi (college of staten island) for spring 2007and got denied, then went to bmcc applied and got accepted for jan 08. but i a glad that while at csi, i took many bsn courses which will help me get my bsn faster. i would like to go back to csi to get my bsn.
personal info: single, age 20, living with parents:d so finances are not a problem.
anything else you want to share: i am very happy to finally get accepted, was so depressed for a while for getting rejected in csi because it was close to my house. then went to bmcc and finally fulfilled my long time dream. i had also applied to adelphi for spring 08, incase i did not get in at bmcc. feel blessed to be accepted at bmcc without the heavy loans i would have with adelphi. i truly wish everyone the best of luck in this new beginning.
how are you preparing?: bought all the books the next day when found out about my acceptance. during these weeks, i will be reading the books, just to get a head start.
Well wish me luck guys, I start tomorrow, orientation was friday (the 4th). Everyone seems to be starting later in the month, don't know why our whole college starts so early. But I'm excited but wouldn't have minded waiting another week but anyway.... here I go.... :w00t:

school history: graduated high school in 04', been going to community college ever since, full time some semesters, part time others. i've been done my pre-reqs for over a year for nursing transfer to a 4 year school... i have an associates of science degree in nursing transfer
personal info: i live with my loving fire fighter boyfriend of 2 years, 2 fun cats. i like to go to the gym in my spare time... and sleep! i have been volunteering with my local fire dpt. for 5 years now... i am an emt, ambulance driver, and cpr instructor, and serve on a couple of committees there. i work part time at a drug rehab, as a tech.
anything else you want to share: i'm both nervous and excited! eeeeek!!!
