those that took the test on the 6th/7th...? took it myself 1st time, had to really rush without much thought just to finish it, overall score it gave me was *121* , I wonder what the process is in KBCC, do they then compare this score with the KB students ? or national? my gpa is 3.94... the english part killed it for me, the last tricky vocal section I guess almost all the way though.

Hey! I bought all new books from amazon, I managed to find them for cheaper prices on there. As far as the access codes i didn't use any of them, and we were not assigned homework from them. The blackboard session is just to make sure you know how to use the system .. which is important because the Nursing dept/Professors mainly communicate through blackboard ( from things coming up, power points, other info sheets, grades ect). I would go with whatever is best for your budget because I know how quickly the costs can add up!

Hey guys,

I'm confused. Where do I go to sign up for the orientation?

Thanks.

Ugh. Never mind. I was suppose to do it when I handed in my acceptance form. I hope it's not too late to sign up... -.-' No one in the department notified me about this when I handed in my acceptance form that day. Ahhhh.

I went in and I asked the secretary who I gave my forms to last week and she said that the hw assignment would be given to me on orientation, as well as my course sections and book lists. Was anyone else told that as well? In any case [COLOR=#003366]jayjaycee, can you please let me know what happens when you go to the office today?? thank u!

Hey @queenD85! Sorry for the late response! When I went into the Nursing Department to ask for the homework assignment they told me that I "do not have to do it". I'm not even sure if that's true to be honest with you. But the woman I asked, quickly answered me before I could even finish my sentence. As for the booklist, I didn't ask the Nursing Department for it because I found it on the school's website. Just go to Kingsborough's Bookstore website and search for the class.

@missnomer The "new student" nursing orientation is on February 27th. You just need to go to the Nursing Department to sign up for the Blackboard Orientation thingy. If I remember correctly, the dates they are offering are February 25th and 26th. So its not too late! ;)

What are the books req. The site doesn't work , thanks

@rush14 Sorry about that. The website is http://www.kingsboroughcuny.bkstr.com

Click on the "Books" tab then select "Textbooks & Course Materials".

From there, your going to choose "All" for the program.

Then, "Spring 2014" for the term.

After that choose, "NUR" for nursing.

Then select either "1700" for Dosage Calc or "1800" for the Fundamentals class.

It doesn't matter which section you choose because they all require the same books. Then Voila! The book list. :)

All these books. Nuts.

hey guys,

did everyone get their books? I am not sure if I should go ahead and buy them. The nursing department told me to wait. What do you guys think? Thanks in advance!

Hey guys,

I've posted this on another forum by accident thinking it was this one. Ahh. Does anyone know if we'll eventually do our clinicals in a hospital?

Thanks.

Clinicals in the hospital start 2nd semester. For my first semester I was at Lutheran Augustana, I learned a lot in the nursing home and it was a very humbling experience .. take advantage of every oppurtunity to practice skills you can get while you are there!

That's great to hear because I've been assigned to Augustana :)
