  1. Yes, that's all the requirements. It wouldn't hurt to take A&P 2 or Microbiology before applying to the program. It'll save you some time and money by doing that. Good luck!
  2. Hey @Valcinda! Chemistry is not a prerequisite for A&P at Kingsborough. :)
  3. Thank you @nursingstudentjess!! This helped SO much! You're going to make a great nurse some day!! :)
  4. @nursingstudentjess Could you offer some advice about note taking and studying skills in NUR 17 and 18? I've never taken a class like NUR 18 and there's so much information. What proved to be effective for you? Thank you! :)
  5. That's great to hear because I've been assigned to Augustana :)
  6. @rush14 Sorry about that. The website is http://www.kingsboroughcuny.bkstr.com Click on the "Books" tab then select "Textbooks & Course Materials". From there, your going to choose "All" for the program. Then, "Spring 2014" for the term. After that choose, "NUR" for nursing. Then select either "1700" for Dosage Calc or "1800" for the Fundamentals class. It doesn't matter which section you choose because they all require the same books. Then Voila! The book list. :)
  7. @missnomer The "new student" nursing orientation is on February 27th. You just need to go to the Nursing Department to sign up for the Blackboard Orientation thingy. If I remember correctly, the dates they are offering are February 25th and 26th. So its not too late!
  8. Hey @queenD85! Sorry for the late response! When I went into the Nursing Department to ask for the homework assignment they told me that I "do not have to do it". I'm not even sure if that's true to be honest with you. But the woman I asked, quickly answered me before I could even finish my sentence. As for the booklist, I didn't ask the Nursing Department for it because I found it on the school's website. Just go to Kingsborough's Bookstore website and search for the class.
  9. Yes, I handed in my acceptance form and the woman in the department didn't say a thing. She just told me I'm "all set". Wow, good thing I asked you. I'll go to the department first thing on Monday. You're always a huge help. Thank you once again.
  10. @udacha I didn't ask anyone in the department because I was on a rush to go to work. I'm asking a student in the program because she's gone through the orientation process and she'll also be volunteering at this years orientation. If she doesn't know the answers, I'm pretty sure she will tell me just that. Then I will have to ask the department. No big deal.
  11. @nursingstudentjess I'm kind of confused Do we have to wait till orientation to get our list of books and purchase uniforms or can we do that now? Also, I signed up for the "library blackboard session" when I handed in my acceptance form however, I'm not really sure what it is? Am I actually going into the school for this "session"? Lastly, apparently there is a "medical terminology" assignment that must be turned in the first day of class. Do we pick up the assignment from the nursing department before or after orientation? Sorry for all the questions, I'm just feeling really nervous and its making me feel dumb lol. After I got accepted, I keep having dreams of showing up to orientation and I don't have anything done. Resulting in the Department Chair kicking me out......I mean literally "kicking" me out:nailbiting:. *lol*
  12. I'm an aspiring nurse and it scares me to hear that this is the kind of field of work I'm signing up for. If you could have chosen a different path, what would you have done?
  13. This was VERY helpful! Thank you so much!
  14. Hey @nursingstudentjess! I just wanted to know how you balanced your school and work schedule while taking both NUR 17 and 18? Also, do you think it is absolutely necessary to have a laptop while in the program? Or will a tablet be just fine? I'm in the market for a new tablet/laptop and I was thinking maybe the microsoft surface might work out cause it serves as both. But I really value your advice and wanted to know what you think. :)
  15. You're an angel!! You're insight is greatly appreciated!! @nursingstudentjess
