Hi. Anyone apply for Aria SON? for January 2012 start?:)

Hey wontgiveup. Thanks! I seriously needed to hear that because I was just at bible study last night and was so up in the air about whether to start in January or defer again until next sept. I feel confident God will make a way. Thanks for the encouragement.

Hi momofsix, am guessing Bumblebee will say yes because when I went in for the interview, Julie asked if I had a smart phone. She said, "it's good to have because some apps coming in handy during class." something like that..

Northeastern and Drexel actually have as a part of their program a little device that the student must purchase and software that gets downloaded. I guess maybe Frankford doesn't make it mandatory like the others, but maybe gives students the options to download software if they have a smart phone and want to use that option.

Thanks for the info. Hopefully bumblebee can add to it...I love new little gadgets! but I DO already have a smart phone so I wouldn't need to purchase the ipod or whatever it is anyway.

hey everyone, its been a while . I hope everything's great with everyone now that our futures are somewhat more clearer than before :D

did anyone else get their packet today? i was surprised but it was stuffed in my mailbox along with a financial aid letter.

its overwhelming all that needs to be done!:uhoh3:

haha, @bumblebee, your were right:bowingpur... all the little fees (cpr, bg checks, fbi clearance, physician appointments etc) are adding up!

and lastly, but most important:redlight:.. has anyone created an account with http://www.certifiedbackground.com yet? i keep getting asked for a package code. am i missing something here? my searching has led me to call their site's PA rep /Julie, but wanted to see if anyone knew something more about it here.

I got my medical packet/financial aid letter yesterday. I was looking to see if there was a package code on one of the papers in the packet but didn't find one. Celeste, did you get in contact with their rep yet??

I got my packet and sent my CPR request for Nov 7 as well. Hope there is a spot. Is celest your real name? If so, I'll keep my ears open for you if we both wind up going. My name is Barb.

Yes, all these requirements add up really quick. I've also sent my child abuse clearance out. I've gotten my FBI clearance already (only because I just became a foster parent :). Now I have to make doc appt for physical and dentist appt.

So much but it's exciting so that helps keep the stress factor down a bit. I cannot believe how much the uniforms are?! And all the writeups I've read aren't good. They all say they're extremely uncomfortable. Like wearing a burlap bag! ugh!!

Lastly, if you find out the code for the certified background will you share it on line here? I cannot find it anywhere either and I've emailed them twice with NO responses.

Hi Momofsix, How long did it take for the FBI clearance to come back? I read on one of the papers in the packet that it could take several weeks, but I won't be able to send in a request for it until the end of the month. :/ Hopefully i won't miss the deadline by delaying it a bit..

I actually had to get it for part of the foster parent process so it was done through the foster care agency. I had to give them my information, and go to their facility to be fingerprinted. I was shocked because we got the clearances within a week! But again, the foster care agency put them through so I don't know if that makes a difference. I would just do it as soon as you can. I completely understand having to space things out because there is so much to do and everything costs money!

Thanks for letting me know!! Going through the agency probably was a factor in it going through so quickly, but i will try to get it out asap. Yeah, it's gonna be something trying to get all this money together for the program. And the book cost is a whole other story.. (I looked at the booklist for this september's N110 class on sonisweb. They have the book prices listed, and i calculated the total cost of the books and it came out to over $700!! :eek:)

Thanks for the info BumbleBee! Please keep me posted if you hear of any changes! I do know I will have to take nutrition over, since mine wasnt by a registered dietician...I am trying to decide if I want to retake it at the community college, or if I get into Aria, take it there. I just don't want to take up anymore time than I would have to, if trying to get done in 2 years...hmm

I am just hoping to get in first!!!! :)
